Taylor Swift Fans File Second Lawsuit Against Ticketmaster Over Eras Tour Debacle

Another group of Taylor Swift fans is suing Ticketmaster in the aftermath of the recent Eras Tour ticketing debacle, Rolling Stone reports and Pitchfork can confirm. Earlier this month, fans filed a lawsuit alleging that the ticketing company engaged in “fraud, price-fixing, and antitrust violations,” and, now, a second lawsuit (obtained by Pitchfork) has been filed. In the latter federal class action lawsuit, which was filed on Tuesday (December 20), the group alleges that Ticketmaster violated antitrust laws, and participated in anticompetitive and misleading conduct. “Ticketmaster intentionally and purposefully misled millions of fans into believing it would prevent bots and scalpers from participating in the presales,” the lawsuit says. “However, millions of fans were unable to purchas...

Thom Bell, Producer and “Sound of Philadelphia” Architect, Dies at 79

Thom Bell, the legendary producer who revolutionized Philly Soul in the 1960s and ’70s, has died, Rolling Stone and The Philadelphia Inquirer report. Bell co-created “The Sound of Philadelphia” alongside songwriter Leon Huff and producer Kenny Gamble, who were known as the Mighty Three. Together, they founded Philadelphia International and crafted some of the most beloved records of the era. Some of Bell’s most renowned works include “La-La Means I Love You” by the Delfonics, “Backstabber” by the O’Jays, “Mama Can’t Buy You Love” by Elton John, and “Rubberband Man” by the Spinners. A cause of death has not yet been revealed. He was 79 years old. Bad Bunny Shares New Song “Gato de Noche”: Listen

Bad Bunny has released a new song. “Gato de Noche” is a collaboration with Ñengo Flow, and follows Benito’s latest album, Un Verano Sin Ti, from earlier this year. As Rolling Stone points out, Bad Bunny began teasing the track on TikTok earlier this week, where the Puerto Rican rapper and singer shared two clips, the latter of which includes a portion of Ñengo Flow’s verse. Un Verano Sin Ti was released in May, and featured 23 songs including “Moscow Mule” and “Tití Me Preguntó.” The album was nominated for Album of the Year at the 2023 Grammy Awards, where Bad Bunny received a total of three nominations. Tomorrowland Is Returning to Brazil In 2023 After 7 Years

Tomorrowland is making a triumphant return to São Paulo, Brazil in 2023.  After seven years, the iconic dance music festival brand will reappear in Brazil from October 12-14, 2023. DJ Dies Following Performance at Thailand’s Wonderfruit Festival: Report

A DJ has died after performing at Thailand’s Wonderfruit Festival, Coconuts Bangkok reports. Guillaume Wyss, a Bangkok-based DJ better known as Boogie G, was found unresponsive on the Wonderfruit Festival grounds on the morning of December 16th. He had performed a DJ set at the event early Friday morning from midnight to 2am. TIDAL’s New Tool Allows Subscribers to DJ for Their Friends and Followers

TIDAL is flipping the switch on consumers, allowing them to create mixes and mashups to kickstart their careers as DJs.  TIDAL, a digital service provider known for their high-fidelity audio, is testing out a new featured called “DJ” for subscribers signed up for their HiFi Plus plan. In its current state, iOS users are the only ones able to create mixes with the “DJ” tool, but Android users can tune in and listen. With “DJ,” HiFI Plus subscribers are able to create a set and share it for friends and followers, who can tune in and listen to the mix in real-time, just like a live radio broadcast or podcast. Netflix to End Password Sharing in US Beginning in 2023: Report

Netflix will begin cracking down on password sharing in the US starting in early 2023, reports The Wall Street Journal. This summer, the streaming platform tested out an “extra home” fee in Argentina, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras after first rolling it out in Chile, Costa Rica, and Peru. Based on those tests, the new monthly fee is expected to cost $3 per extra home in the US. Netflix is well aware of how the crackdown will alienate customers. “Make no mistake, I don’t think consumers are going to love it right out of the gate,” Co-CEO Ted Sarandos told investors in early December.
