Zach Bryan & Luke Combs Make Inroads for Country on the Billboard Global 200

The May 7-dated Billboard Global 200 chart includes 21 debuts from a range of artists spanning genres and continents, including Argentine producers, South Korean pop singers and German rappers. Two of the new titles are from American country acts, as Zach Bryan‘s “Something in the Orange” and Luke Combs‘ “Tomorrow Me” arrive at Nos. 107 and 150, respectively. Bryan and Combs bring the latest of just 10 country hits to appear on the Global 200 so far this year. Both songs fall short of the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, which is on trend for their genre as no country artist has yet appeared on the Excl. U.S. tally in 2022. “Orange” and “Tomorrow” yielded 9.6 million and 7.6 million global streams, respectively, in the week ending April 28, according to Luminate. For “Orange,” 92% of tho...

M Huncho Taps Yung Bleu for Transatlantic Link-up “Who We Are”

Following up on his recent solo effort “The Worst” along with his two collaborative singles with Giggs (“Lean”) and Headie One (“Warzone”), North-West London artist M Huncho, has released his latest pre-album record, tapping Alabama-born rap star Yung Bleu for “Who We Are”. Underpinning Benjamin Lasnier and Pilfinger’s slow-rolling trap production, this smooth, transatlantic effort sees the two rappers use their Auto-Tuned melodies in full effect as they rhyme about their new found fame and success, and what it took to achieve it. While there’s a great deal of synergy here, M Huncho seems more matured than ever, which makes us wonder if the same energy will be kept throughout his debut album, Chasing Euphoria, due May 20. The accompanying visuals, directed by Myles Whittingham, take us fro...

Carnage Announces Retirement From Music Industry

After a whirlwind 14 years in the electronic dance music industry, Carnage has announced his retirement at the age of 31. While his detractors will likely remember him only for his occasionally irascible offstage antics, most will—and should—celebrate Carnage as a pioneering electronic music producer. Carnage’s groundbreaking work in the early 2010s helped usher in a new genre called “festival trap,” a thunderous, 808-heavy twist on the saturated electro music that dominated festivals at the time. Buoyed by a thriving SoundCloud community, festival trap quickly became a movement—and Carnage was its vanguard. Although EDM was his bread and butter, Carnage’s brushstroke painted a far more colorful mosaic in the music community. He operated as a prolific hip-...

A multifaceted venue, the museum plans to offer both permanent collections and traveling exhibitions. After initiating visitors with an immersive film experience, they can step foot into a recreation of an authentic studio en...
