SoundCloud Acquires Music AI Software That Claims to Predict Hit Songs

SoundCloud has acquired Musiio, an artificial intelligence imprint focused on creating technology that can “listen” to music and better predict a song’s success, the company announced this week. The acquisition will allow SoundCloud to further utilize its vast data to pinpoint up-and-coming trends in music and discover rising talent on its artist-first platform. Musiio, which is based in Singapore, was founded by British CEO Hazel Savage and Swedish CTO Aron Pettersson in 2018. Armin van Buuren Announces 2022 Headlining Shows at Ushuaïa and Hï Ibiza

Armin van Buuren is officially returning to the White Isle this summer. The legendary DJ and trance music producer has announced six headlining performances in Ibiza, starting with two at Ushuaïa Ibiza’s world-famous poolside stage on June 9th June and 26th. van Buuren will then head to the venue’s sister club, Hï Ibiza, on August 22nd and 29th before returning to the iconic Ushuaïa Ibiza to tie a bow on the season with two final shows on September 18th and 25th. Judas Priest are set to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2022. The legendary British metal band is receiving the Musical Excellence Award — the same award that saw the posthumous induction of Randy Rhoads last year.
