Exclusive: Watch Swedish House Mafia Discuss Early Ambitions and 2010s EDM Boom

Thanks to Swedish House Mafia, it feels like 2010 again. Back then, electronic dance music was enjoying its heyday. And Swedish House Mafia were emblematic of the scene at the time—cohesive and tight-knit, but combustible and ready to explode. You couldn’t go to a music festival without hearing the visceral, signature sound of the trio, who dominated the circuit like Michael Jordan in Game 6. Generational anthems like “Miami 2 Ibiza” and “Don’t You Worry Child” soundtracked the EDM boom of the early 2010s, a timeframe which Swedish House Mafia conjured with their long-awaited debut album, Paradise Again. Released just days ago, the record functioned as a neurotransmitter, triggering the elusive serotonin rush that fans thought would never happen aga...

No matter how much we grow and adapt, it’s impossible to ignore our roots. Just Flux Pavilion, whose new single harkens back to his pioneering dubstep days of yesteryear. “After a couple years of exploring the space in-between the drops, I woke up one morning with a distinct feeling in my heart that I needed to write a f***ing banger,” said Pavilion, whose new single “Lore” dropped today. “So I’ve done exactly that.”  He also said the track lays the foundation for the concept of the “Fluxiverse,” a fictional universe developed by his team over the last four years. Its mystical themes are conveyed by his new song’s eerie spoken-word segment, a soliloquy that serenades us to its eventual climax. “The elder gods...

SKID ROW’s DAVE ‘SNAKE’ SABO: ‘My Happiness Isn’t Based On How Many Zeroes Are On My Bank Account Statement’

In a new interview with “The Mistress Carrie Podcast”, SKID ROW guitarist Dave “Snake” Sabo was asked which is harder to keep together: a band or a marriage. He responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “Well, I’ve had success and failures at both. There’s a lot of similarities in the two things, but what usurps everything is love and respect. And that’s a two-way street. Rachel [Bolan, bass], Scotti [Hill, guitar] and I, and Rob Hammersmith, the drummer who’s been in the band 12 years, and now Erik [Grönwall, vocals], there’s a love and respect that is completely palatable; you can feel it in the room with us, in the dressing room, on stage. It’s all very real. That has to exist with the home life too. I love my famil...

ANVIL Releases Lyric Video For New Song ‘Take A Lesson’

As always, guitarist/vocalist Steve “Lips” Kudlow and founding drummer Robb Reiner are at the epicenter of this heavy metal extravaganza. For the past eight years, they have been supported by bassist Chris Robertson, who not only complements the ANVIL fold on a personal level, but als...

He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “We recorded an album a few years ago. We haven’t finished it yet. We kind of took some time off for family, COVID, weird touring circumstances, some changes within our team. And we are still currently with one record left on Warner Brothers Records. We’ll be finishing that record up — I think we have May locked out; our producer can get back to work on it — and then we’re gonna go mix with Andy Wallace in August. And then we’re gonna figure out if it’s [going to be released in the] first ...
