Syd has officially announced her long-awaited sophomore album Broken Hearts Club with its newest single “Could You Break A Heart” featuring Lucky Daye. Clocking in at four minutes, the smooth, bass-heavy cut hears Syd and Daye open up about apprehensions in trusting a new relationship. “Could You Break A Heart” follows The Internet staple’s previously released cuts “Missing Out,” “Fast Car” and “Right Track,” which all dropped in 2021 as stand-alone singles. Syd’s Broken Hearts Club is set to drop on April 8 and is performed, co-written and co-produced by the artist herself. Arcade Fire’s new album has finally been announced. WE is out May 6 via Columbia. The album was produced by Nigel Godrich, Win Butler, and Régine Chassagne. As promised, the group has shared the video for their new song “The Lightning I, II.” It’s directed by Emily Kai Bock; watch it below. The album was recorded in New Orleans, El Paso, and Mount Desert Island. The 40-minute, seven-song album is split into one side called “I” (an opening side about isolation) and another called “WE” (about reconnection); the first three tracks are on “I,” and the next four are on “WE.” The album’s cover features a photograph by the artist JR with airbrush color tinting by Terry Pastor (who worked on David Bowie’s Hunky Dory and Ziggy Stardust covers). Today (March 17) is St. Patrick’s Day, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi hosted the annual Friends of Ireland luncheon at the White House. At the luncheon, Speaker Pelosi read a poem that she said was written by U2 frontman Bono. According to a tweet from Bono, he has an annual tradition of sending Pelosi a limerick for the luncheon. “This year the limerick is irregular & not funny at all,” he wrote.
