MAMMOTH WVH’s WOLFGANG VAN HALEN On How He Approaches Being A Frontman: ‘I’m Very Much Myself’

During an appearance on the “Walking The Floor With Chris Shiflett” podcast, Wolfgang Van Halen was asked to describe the kind of frontman he is when he and his MAMMOTH WVH bandmates perform live. He responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “I’m very much myself, to a certain degree. It’s not much of a, [in high-pitched voice] ‘What the fuck is up, everybody?’ I think everybody would expect, from a cynical distance, if they know nothing about it, they probably assume me to be like David Lee Roth-esque and be, like, ‘wow’ in between every vocal. Maybe that’ll be a phase I reach at some point, but right now I’m just myself and I talk to the audience, I tell stories in between songs about what you’re about to hear....

TNT Is In Talks With TONY HARNELL About Doing ‘One Last Tour’ To Celebrate 40th Anniversary

In a new interview with Darren Paltrowitz, host of the “Paltrocast With Darren Paltrowitz”, TNT guitarist Ronni Le Tekrø confirmed that he has been in touch with the band’s former singer Tony Harnell about a renewed collaboration. Speaking about the group’s current status, Ronni said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “I’ve started writing new material, and I’m currently having good talks with Tony and the whole band. We have very much communication. And it’s been 40 years [since TNT‘s formation]. But we’re trying to bring the band back together and hopefully make one last tour of Europe and maybe America… I think we might wanna end the TNT chapter with dignity and do one last tour.” Last April, Harnell, who has been in a...

HEART’s NANCY WILSON Wants To Write A Rock Album With DOLLY PARTON: ‘I Should Give Her A Call’

HEART‘s Nancy Wilson has praised Dolly Parton for taking herself out of the running for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame‘s 2022 class of inductees. Earlier today, the 76-year-old country music legend asked the Hall to withdraw her name from the 2022 ballot, saying “I don’t feel that I have earned the right. I really do not want votes to be split because of me, so I must respectfully bow out.” Parton was one of 17 artists nominated for the Rock Hall class of 2022, along with Eminem, Lionel Richie, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, JUDAS PRIEST and Beck, among others. Ballots are cast by an international voting body of more than 1,000 artists — including previous inductees — historians, music industry members and critics. Charlie Cox Calls Ben Affleck’s Daredevil Movie “Tonally Confused,” Says the “Suit Sucks”

Charlie Cox wasn’t the first actor to play Daredevil, but he’s not afraid to criticize his predecessors. When discussing the future of Netflix’s Daredevil series at the 2022 Middle East Film & Comic Con, Cox revealed he was no fan of the Ben Affleck-starring 2003 Daredevil film, which he called “tonally confused.” “I watched it once, and then I wanted to go and do my own thing,” Cox said. “I hadn’t seen it before I got the role. I watched it when I got the role.” Cox clarified that he didn’t have a problem with Affleck’s performance — “I like his Matt Murdock,” he admitted — so much as he had a problem with the film itself. “I feel like the movie tried to do too much and it was a little tonally confused,” he said, adding: “They had everyone in that movie — they had Kingpin, t...

Darth Maul Scenes Were Scrapped from Obi-Wan Kenobi Series: Report

Sorry, Sith Lord fans, but Darth Maul likely won’t be appearing in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series starring Ewan McGregor. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the villain was originally planned to appear in the Star Wars show, but the scenes were scrapped during a creative overhaul that instead added in Darth Vader. The report even says actor Ray Park, who portrayed Darth Maul in The Phantom Menace and Solo: A Star Wars Story, was “in active prep” to reprise the role in the live-action Disney+ series. However, that all changed when original Obi-Wan writer Hossein Amini and director Deborah Chow showed Lucasfilm their scripts. Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau allegedly had concerns about the story covering similar ground as The Mandolorian since Obi-Wan was set to center around its...

SXSW Review: Halo Feels Like A Reskinned Version of Sci-Fi Shows Past

This review is part of our coverage of the 2022 SXSW Film Festival. The Pitch: In the mid-26th century, a sprawling human empire comes under attack from the mysterious Covenant, an alliance of alien races dedicated to a fanatical religion surrounding a race of ancient extraterrestrials and the artifacts they leave behind. To combat them (and, not coincidentally, the rough-and-tumble insurrectionists who resist humanity’s militaristic government, the UNSC), Dr. Catherine Halsey (Natascha McElhone) has created the Spartans — armored supersoldiers trained and tortured from birth to be the ultimate, emotionless killing machine. The biggest and most badass of them all is John-117, aka the Master Chief (Orange Is the New Black‘s Pablo Schreiber), who can dispatch a Covenant Elite and a colo...

China Is Once Again Resorting To Lockdowns As Omicron Variant Runs Rampant

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: PETER PARKS / Getty Just when it seemed like we were closer to being done with the Covid pandemic, China is once again experiencing a surge in Covid infections not seen since the beginning of the pandemic two years ago and they’re taking drastic steps to stop the new wave. According to The New York Times, several of China’s factories have ordered lockdowns, along with theaters, cinemas and many restaurants in Shanghai, as Omicron infections have more than quintupled in recent days from their seven-day average which now stands at 1,584. Though China can’t afford to go through another complete shutdown as it did when the pandemic first began two years ago, they are taking some pretty intense steps to avoid another wave of infections. HBO Max & Discovery Plus Joining Forces For New & Hopefully Better Streaming App

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: SOPA Images / Getty Hopefully, this new merger results in a better HBO Max app experience. Spotted on The Verge, as a direct result of the pending merger between Discovery and WarnerMedia that will eventually close, the streaming apps the company apps use will also come together. That sounds good, BUT does that mean it will result in a better HBO Max app because keeping it 100, the HBO Max app in its current form stinks. Discovery CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels announced the coming of the mega app during the Deutsche Bank 30th Annual Media, Internet, & Telecom Conference. The news of more streaming content available to subscribers is welcoming, but, of course, the immediate concern is will the app will get better? You can’t go a day without seeing someone comp...
