It turns out there are even more hidden gems in Avicii‘s archives, two of which we’ve learned are collaborations with Tiësto. In a new interview with Level One, Tiësto says he and Avicii were initially excited about one particular track they had in the pipeline, but it was still unfinished. However, upon the Swedish superstar’s tragic death, Tiësto, like so many of Avicii’s collaborators, ultimately found himself uncertain as to what Avicii would have wanted to do with the track. “We made a track together years ago and we wanted to release it. Actually, I have two tracks with him,” Tiësto recalls. “We never really finished both of them. After he passed away. I didn’t know if he would have wanted them to be released; so I decided not ...

Chris Stapleton took the stage at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Monday night (Mar. 7) to play “Watch You Burn,” his song about the tragic shooting at Vegas’ Route 91 country festival in 2017. Introduced by Jason Aldean, who was performing at the festival when the shooting took place five years ago, Stapleton delivered an incendiary performance of the Starting Over album cut, with furious lyrics like “If I could snap my fingers, if I could flip a switch/ I’d make that last bullet first, you son of a b–ch.” Towards the end, a row of backing vocalists stationed in front of Stapleton raised their arms as the vocals rose in intensity, and the singer-guitarist’s shredding built to a cacophony — an intense climax for an emotional moment. The 2022 ACM Awards, which took place at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Monday (March 7) night, made history as the first live major awards show to be exclusively livestreamed (on Prime Video). That win arrives slightly more than a year after Wallen, country’s biggest rising commercial star, was caught on video using the n-word among his friends late one night in February 2021. Following the incident, Wallen apologized and asked fans not to defend him. While many radio stations initially pulled his songs, Wall...

Listen to the rollicking new single “The Mainline Song” below. Everything Was Beautiful was originally slated for a February 25th release, but manufacturing issues led the band to delay its release until April 22nd. Written during the pandemic, Spaceman plays 16 different instruments across the record, which also features a huge list of guest contributors along with string and brass sections and...
Benedict Cumberbatch is defending The Power of the Dog after actor Sam Elliott called the film a “piece of shit” and complained about “allusions of homosexuality.” Cumberbatch stars as Phil Burbank, a man whose carefully-cultivated machismo hides personal anxieties about his sexual preferences. For Cumberbatch’s work in director Jane Campion’s film, he’s been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role, and he’s being considered for the same honor at the 2022 BAFTA Awards. He recently participated in a BAFTA Film Sessions panel where he politely addressed the controversy. After answering a question about all the Phils still out there in the world today, he said he hoped The Power of the Dog helped explain “what poisons the well in men, what creates t...
