Voice of Bender John DiMaggio Finally Joins Futurama Revival: “I’m Back, Baby!”
John DiMaggio would like to invite all the haters to bite his shiny metal ass. As Variety reports, the voiceover legend has officially boarded the Futurama revival headed for Hulu. When Futurama was pulled out of the cryogenic chamber last month, fans quickly noted a missing piece: DiMaggio, a veteran of such beloved properties as Adventure Time, Gears of War, Teen Titans and more, who had voiced the character of Bender since the show’s inception. As he subsequently explained in a statement, he’d turned down an offer out of “self-respect,” adding, “Just to be clear, I don’t think only I deserve to be paid more. Students at Marshall, Texas HBCU Wiley College will have the opportunity to assist in producing a film alongside Tip “T.I.” Harris’ Grand Hustle Films, it was announced Tuesday (Mar. 1). The film will be bankrolled with funds awarded by The Propel Center, a recently-established HBCU technology and learning hub that provided a $300,000 grant for the project. If-Only, a UK-based publication, has launched an open-source Google Sheet containing a list of Ukranian artists and music labels with the help of public suggestions. The header of the shared document issues a call to action encouraging supporters to back the Ukrainian artists and labels via Bandcamp.
