A series of rare live photos from Nirvana‘s early days will be sold as NFTs via Pop Legendz. The 27 never-before-seen images were shot by photographer Faith West during the band’s intimate performance at J.C. Dobbs in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on October 1, 1991 — just six days after Nirvana released Nevermind. A few weeks after the show, the band was catapulted into the spotlight to become one of music’s most influential groups in history. “At the club that night, the air was thick with anticipation,” West recalled. “There was a buzz of excitement that said something awesome was about to transpire. Also, there was a sense of joy emanating from Cobain in his raucous guitar licks and the transcendent longing of his vocals…I can still hear the echo of the fuzzy guitar, and feel the energy i...
RATING: 9.5/10 Five years have passed since IMMOLATION‘s last album, “Atonement”. In its 30-plus years of existence, the unit hasn’t released a single subpar offering, although naturally some stand out above others. Their earliest releases, veritable classics like “Dawn of Possession” (1991) and “Here in After” (1996), are revered higher than most of what’s followed, but they’ve always been consistent and more than just a little good with their bleak, dark, anti-religious metal. The legendary, New York-based death metal machine finally returns with its 11th full-length album, “Acts of God”, their best effort since 2002’s “Unholy Cult”. Robert Vigna and Ross Dolan have been hacking away with their stri...

K.K. Downing says that he feels very strongly about making sure the Tim “Ripper” Owens-era JUDAS PRIEST albums are available to the public. The Ohio-based singer created two studio albums with the British heavy metal legends — 1997’s “Jugulator” and 2001’s “Demolition” — before the band reunited with Rob Halford. Asked by Jamey Jasta of “The Jasta Show” who owns the rights to LPs Owens made with PRIEST, Downing said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “It’s a good question. CMC [International Records, which released ‘Jugulator’ in the USA] and the guys that were the labels are defunct now, so the rights to the albums reverted back to us, JUDAS PRIEST.” When Jasta pressed Downing about the fact that ...

Coachella Music Festival has quietly updated its health and safety rules and will not require proof of vaccination, a negative COVID-19 test, mask wearing, or any other pandemic precautions for the 2022 event. “In accordance with local guidelines, there will be no vaccination, testing or masking requirements at Coachella 2022,” organizers wrote.
