HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Alexander Tamargo / Getty It feels like just yesterday Travis Scott was getting pulled from concert lineups due to the controversy surrounding the tragic events of his 2021 Astroworld show, but lately the “Highest In The Room” rapper has been booked for a few big time shows and Rolling Loud is the latest event that has enlisted the talents of one Cactus Jack. This past Wednesday (December 7), Rolling Loud took to their official Twitter account to announce that Travis Scott would be headlining their December 23rd show… in Thailand! We guess American Travis Scott fans will have to book a flight overseas if they want to see their favorite artist live and in concert. Rolling Loud Thailand is set to go down on April 13 and end on the 15th at Legend Siam i...
HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Comedy Central / Comedy Central It seems like only yesterday that a young South African comedian stepped into the giant shoes left by Jon Stewart and took over The Daily Show. Yet, it’s been seven years since Trevor Noah started hosting the late night show and last night his watch ended. Trevor Noah is leaving the show on his own terms. The Daily Show is still a fan favorite, generates viral clips and has helped develop careers including those of Roy Woods, Jr., Jessica Williams, and Amber Ruffin. In his final appearance behind the desk, Noah took some time to celebrate the success of the show during his reign. Related Stories “I’m grateful to you. Every single one of you,” Noah said to the audience. “I remember when we started the show, we couldn’t get e...

Taylor Swift is set to direct a feature film for Searchlight Pictures based on a script she wrote herself. Searchlight presidents David Greenbaum and Matthew Greenfield said in a statement, “Taylor is a once in a generation artist and storyteller. It is a genuine joy and privilege to collaborate with her as she embarks on this exciting and new creative journey.” The title and other details have not yet been confirmed. Swift, who released Midnights in October, wrote and directed a short film last year to accompany an extended version of her song “All Too Well (Taylor’s Version).” It was submitted for the 2023 Oscars, and won the 2022 VMA for Best Direction. The latter award made Swift, who also won in 2020 for “The Man,” the first solo artist to receive the honor twice.

Until now, we’ve not been able to comment on what’s going on with the band, as life changing events have left us on hiatus, just trying to get through each day. There were times over the last few years when we never thought we would ever step foot on a stage together again. However we feel that the time has now come to pick up where we left off. Before we do that though, we want to address something important. When we called our band Slaves, it was intended solely as a reference to the grind of day to day life. As younger men, we responded to criticism of the name from a place of fear and defensiveness. Feeling backed into a corner, our own pride caused us to fight for a name we weren’t even sure we wanted anymore. It felt at times as if our band name had defined us and we were scared of w...
SZA has shared a video for “Nobody Gets Me,” marking the release day of new album SOS. Bradley Calder directed the video. SZA, who wore a St. Louis Blues hockey jersey for the album cover and a Seattle Mariners baseball cap on Saturday Night Live, continues the sporty sartorial theme, wearing a New York Jets jacket as she mooches about on a rooftop. Watch it below. Across its 23 tracks, SOS features Phoebe Bridgers, Travis Scott, Don Toliver, and samples of Björk and the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard, among others. Producers include ThankGod4Cody, Carter Lang, Jeff Bhasker, Benny Blanco, Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, and Jay Versace. SZA stans are rejoicing today because her highly-anticipated sophomore album SOS has finally hit streaming services. And to excite the fans even further, the R&B artist has released a brand new music video for “Nobody Gets Me.” Track 14 is a moody number and tells the story of SZA reflecting on a past lover. The visual is simple and essentially shows her crooning on the top of a building somewhere in New York City as she rocks baggy jeans, a graphic tee, a trucker hat that bears an upside-down smiley face and a New York Jets leather jacket. “How am I supposed to let you go / only like myself when I’m with you / nobody gets me you do,” she sings about a partner that made her feel at home whenever they were around. The entire just-over-three-minute clip is shot entirely in black and whit...
