Remute Is Releasing the First-Ever Album As a Nintendo 64 Cartridge

Go to Mom, Dad, Grandma, or Grandpa’s house and brush off your old Nintendo 64 console because techno artist Remute is back with an album for the classic game console. Remute turned back the knob in gaming and musical history to when 8MB was considered a lot of storage for game systems. He’s now releasing an album, dubbed R64, that users will be able to play on the Nintendo 64. The music is generated in real time with the N64’s 8MB of storage.  The German DJ partnered with Rasky, Nintendo 64’s developer for its sound engine and player-GUI. Rasky created a unique 3D visual experience that accompanies Remute’s music and allows the user to fly like Lawnmower Man. You can pre-order R64, which is set for a March 25th, 2022 release date, on Remute’s Bandc...

IAN ANDERSON Doesn’t Think JETHRO TULL Belongs In ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME

Progressive rock and roll legend Ian Anderson, founding member of JETHRO TULL, was asked in a new interview with Jeff Gaudiosi of MisplacedStraws.com about his band’s place in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. He responded: “Well, so far, it’s a sense of relief that I haven’t had to face the embarrassing prospect of being invited into the Hall Of Fame, to be inducted into the Hall Of Fame, because I’ve long maintained the position that the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame is an American institution about American-inspired music. It doesn’t necessarily preclude musicians of other nationalities, but I think it’s gotta be essentially — it’s about American music. Not necessarily exactly rock and roll — we’re not talking about Chuck Berry or Little ...

Gunna & Future ft. Young Thug “Pushin P,” Troy Ave “Playing Games” & More | Daily Visuals 1.13.22

HipHopWired Featured Video It’s going on a week since Gunna dropped his latest project DS4EVER and though his Freddie Gibbs “diss” didn’t exactly live up to the hype he gave it, fans still appreciate the overall material he provided on his latest album. Today Gunna dropped a new visual for one of DS4EVER’s standout cuts, “Pushin P” in which he and Future just ball out from the club to the parking lot before linking up with Young Thug at a… clothing store?? You’d think it would be at the club but it is what it is. Back in Brooklyn, Troy Ave still on his grizzly and in his clip for “Playing Games” politics in an all-white room while a thick as molasses model poses up a storm in the bedroom. Why Troy was in an entirely different room is beyond us but to each his own. Check out the r...

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Kevin Mazur / Getty Jay-Z and Kanye West are in elite company as a pair of the 10 highest-paid musicians of 2021. Ilana Glazer Says Broad City Reunion Is Possible After “Enough Time” Has Passed

It feels like every TV show of the past these days is just one press release away from a revival or reunion; after all, just a few hours before the writing of this post, FX announced that Justified would be returning for a new limited series. So, what about reviving another beloved 2010s cable favorite for a reunion — one lacking Timothy Olyphant in a cowboy hat, but featuring Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer, two of the funniest women to ever grace our television screens? It sounds like Broad City fans may have a while longer to wait for a reunion, unfortunately. The literal issue being “time.” During a press day for the upcoming Apple TV+ series The Afterparty, Consequence asked Glazer about the potential for a Broad City reunion — specifically, what would it take? “Just tons and tons of m...
