Weezer are continuing their series of seasonally themed EPs with Sznz: Autumn, which is out now. Check out the follow-up to their Spring and Summer EPs below. The final installment is, naturally, set to arrive in time for winter. Weezer had been planning a six-night Broadway residency for this month, but canned it because not enough people wanted to go. “I just learned that our Broadway shows have been cancelled (due to low ticket sales and unbelievably high expenses),” Rivers Cuomo wrote on Discord. “I’m very sorry to be telling you this now after we’ve already invested so much time, thought, and emotion. Extra apologies to those of you who cleared schedules and made travel plans to be with us.” Content This content can also be viewed on the site it originates from.
For the first time since Kim Kardashian filed for divorce in February 2021, Kanye West will be sitting down with a major news network for an on-camera interview. Ye will appear on Good Morning America on Thursday (Sept. 22), and discuss co-parenting, politics, ongoing battles with Gap and adidas, Donda Academy, his social media use and more with ABC News Live Prime anchor Linsey Davis. In a teaser clip shared to Instagram on Wednesday (Sept. 21), Davis asks the multihyphenate if social media is more harmful or beneficial to him. “That’s one of my favorite questions of this interview,” Ye responds. “We could use a car to rush somebody to the hospital, or we could use a car and accidentally hit somebody while we’re rushing somebody to the hospital. It all in how we use it.” West has had a tu...
Usher re-created the cover of his single “You Make Me Wanna” amid the release of the album’s special 25th anniversary vinyl edition. The single’s visuals may be decades apart, but the ageless Usher looks virtually unchanged. The reiteration posted to Instagram on Tuesday (Sept. 20) captures him brooding in the same neon-green ensemble he donned in the 90s. Usher’s remake also follows the recreation of his 1997 album cover for My Way released last week. “LaFace Records and Legacy Recordings, the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment (SME), are celebrating the 25th anniversary of global superstar Usher’s iconic album, My Way – the R&B masterpiece that rocketed him into the star-studded spotlight – with an expanded edition of the original album, newly reimagined vers...
The music subscription market, the driving force behind the U.S. recorded music industry’s six-year growth streak, posted another gain in the first half of 2022, according to RIAA midyear figures released Wednesday (Sept. 21). But revenue from paid services such as Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube Music have slowed from earlier break-neck paces. After rising at double-digit growth rates in recent years, subscription revenue grew by only 9.4% in the first half of 2022, down from 11.3% at the mid-point of 2021 and 13.7% at the mid-point of 2020. The $387.6 million increase, to $4.5 billion, was less than half of the $823.5 million reported a year earlier, a period in which streaming services surged during the early pandemic’s lock-down periods and strict restrictions. Still, subscription rev...

Spoon are keeping the momentum going on their latest album Lucifer on the Sofa with a full-album rework called Lucifer on the Moon, with all remixes done by Adrian Sherwood. Before the full album is out November 4th, the Austin band have shared a preview today with the new version of “On the Radio.” Spoon’s initial plan was to have Sherwood remix only a few tracks off Lucifer on the Sofa. But one thing led to another, and like a snowball effect of dub-influenced-indie rock the musicians found themselves with a track-by-track remix on their hands. “I got into the melody and the thoughts it evoked in me,” Sherwood explains in a press release. “It just evolved and we eventually found ourselves with a whole album.” Advertisement Related Video The producer takes “On the Radio” from a ...
HBO is developing a sequel to their 2019 docuseries The Case Against Adnan Syed, leading up to and following the infamous Serial subject’s release from prison. The Case Against Adnan Syed explores Syed’s conviction after his ex-girlfriend Hae Min Lee went missing and was subsequently found dead in 1999. The smash true crime podcast Serial reignited interest in the case, which is garnering media attention again this week after a Baltimore City judge vacated Syed’s conviction and ordered his release from prison. Prosecutors are still deciding if they want to try Syed again after new information was found suggesting the involvement of two more suspects in Lee’s murder: “The State no longer has confidence in the integrity of the conviction,” said Baltimore State’s Attorney Maril...
Nilüfer Yanya has released her first solo single post-PAINLESS with a cover of PJ Harvey’s “Rid of Me,” the roaring opener to her 1993 LP that shares the same name. The London native’s new take opens up the song’s overbearing “you’re not rid of me” refrain into an almost endearing plea to stay together, but like its predecessor, the obsessive adoration comes undone with a crushing, distortion-heavy climax. The track’s typically spare production has always made it the perfect canvas for Harvey to impress upon her distinctive vocals, and Yanya fully embraces the opportunity with her own unique, soulful delivery. It’s a warmer, yet wounded, interpretation, which fits perfectly considering Yanya’s read of the song as “very romantic despite what some of the lyrics get at.” In a statement, Yanya...
Kid Cudi wants fans to know his side of the story. In recent months, Cudi has been at the topic of conversation online having faced criticism from former friends and colleagues including Ye and Mike Dean. Recently, the Man on the Moon artist has faced public backlash from these artists, dredging up past feuds. Ye’s issue with Cudi stems from his friendship with Pete Davidson, while Dean recently took to social media to call Cudi out for dropping him from his tour. As he does his best to rise above these issues, Cudi took to Twitter to call himself the “most hated man in hip hop right now”, despite being “one of the most blessed.” In hopes to tell his side of the story, the Entergalactic rapper tweeted that he is planning on releasing a memori very soon. The memoir is said to give fans the ...
It looks like Doja Cat is no longer sticking to her plans of releasing a “’90s German rave” album for her next project. The artist originally spoke to Matthew M Williams about her plans for her upcoming mixtape, hinting at a “rave kind of vibe.” Now, Doja has taken to Twitter to refute these claims. In a series of tweets, the rapper backtracked on her statements of creating the rave album by announcing to her fans, “im not doing a german rave culture album you guys i was pranking the outlet that interviewed me about it.” She later continued to tweet that she will actually be doing an R&B album, but quickly claimed it was not true either. Doja continued her pranking street with yet another tweet claiming that she is working on “an experimental jazz album.” Finally, she went on to tweet ...
