Becky G looked back on what it was like to work with BTS’ J-Hope in a new interview with Teen Vogue released on Wednesday (Sept. 14). “We were one of the first to do Korean, Spanish, and English. It’s really badass,” she said of the pair’s 2019 collaboration “Chicken Noodle Soup.” “I’m so happy that it happened the way it did. To this day, it’s one of those, ‘I see you, you see me, and even though we may not necessarily have the deepest conversations, we get it’ [relationships].” The trilingual bop, which sparked a viral dance craze with its funky choreography, earned Becky G and the K-pop idol a top 10 hit on the Digital Song Sales chart and also peaked at No. 81 on the Billboard Hot 100 — making J-Hope the first member of BTS to chart on the tally as a solo artist outside the group. Michelle Branch and The Black Keys‘ Patrick Carney have suspended their divorce proceeding and will attempt reconciliation for six months, according to court documents obtained by Billboard. Over the course of their storied career, Tritonal have donned many hats in the recording studio, displaying a level of versatility that has been key to their success. Upon the release of their 2011 debut album, Piercing The Quiet, the duo had their feet firmly cemented in the trance lane. But that cement would eventually dissipate, inspiring a shift towards the emerging electro house scene. As the pair strayed from euphoric trance melodies, they gradually earned mainstream attention within the confines of the surging progressive house and big room genres. Tracks like “Now Or Never” (with Phoebe Ryan) and “Untouchable” (with Cash Cash) tightened the grip Tritonal had on those sounds. The Texan tandem continued on this exploration well into the mid-2010s, not st...

Baltimore prosecutors have filed a motion to vacate the murder conviction of Adnan Syed, the subject of the trailblazing podcast Serial and a four-part HBO docuseries. It follows a nearly year-long reinvestigation into the 1999 murder of Hae Min Lee conducted with the defense, which has uncovered new evidence (via The Wall Street Journal). Though the prosecutors aren’t stating Syed’s innocence, they are requesting a new trial and recommending he be released on his own recognizance while the investigation continues. Thus far, prosecutors have found new information suggesting the involvement of two more suspects. “The State no longer has confidence in the integrity of the conviction,” said Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby. She continued, “After reviewing the evidence and the new...
Before Whitmer Thomas shares his new album The Older I Get the Funnier I Was this October, the comedian-musician has shared another preview today with the single and its accompanying music video. Sonically, “Everything that Feels Good Is Bad” is on the mellower side for Thomas, layering gentle acoustics over an electronic beat before the song swells into a rush of placid dream-pop. The song tackles the habit of gluttonous self-destruction in all its forms, effortlessly weaving the morose with the mundane: “Is it intermittent fasting or an eating disorder?/ Do I need all my old birthday cards or am I a hoarder?” he sings. “This song is about all of the unhealthy things I know I’m not supposed to do that I get some satisfaction out of doing in the moment,” Thomas explains in a press rel...

Simon Cowell has clearly made a name for himself in the world of pop music, but he hasn’t always gotten everything he’s wanted. In a recent interview, the record executive revealed that he tried to score “…Baby One More Time” for a boyband he had signed, but songwriter Max Martin had already promised to give the song to Britney Spears and said no. Cowell was speaking on his America’s Got Talent co-star Howie Mandel’s podcast when he explained his “…Baby One More Time” connection. At the time, he was working with a boyband called 5ive, and they were “just on the verge of breaking them in America.” Someone played Cowell the song — which he said was actually first written for TLC, not Britney — and he said, “My God, I’ve got to have this song.” “So I phoned up Max,” Cowell continued...
