A lawsuit accusing Snoop Dogg of sexual assaulting a woman in Anaheim, California in 2013 has been refiled, documents obtained by Pitchfork show. The lawsuit, which was initially reported in February, was later dismissed after the rapper and other defendants filed motions for dismissal and the woman filed a notice of voluntary dismissal with her attorney. The case was refiled in a California federal court earlier this week, removing the rapper’s business ventures from the lawsuit to sue only Snoop Dogg and fellow defendant Bishop Don “Magic” Juan. The lawsuit reasserts many of the allegations from Jane Doe’s previous filings. Namely, in the complaint, the woman alleges that Snoop Dogg and Bishop Don “Magic” Juan forced her to have oral sex with them in 2013. The new lawsuit claims that the...
Pat Benatar has retired her classic song “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” “in deference to the victims of the families of these mass shootings.” Benatar hasn’t performed “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” live since May, and she has no plans to do so going forward. In an interview with USA Today, she explained, “I tell [fans], if you want to hear the song, go home and listen to it.” “[The title] is tongue in cheek, but you have to draw the line,” she added. “I can’t say those words out loud with a smile on my face, I just can’t. I’m not going to go on stage and soap box – I go to my legislators – but that’s my small contribution to protesting. I’m not going to sing it. Tough.” Advertisement Related Video Written by Eddie Schwartz and released by Benatar in 1980, “Hit Me with Your Best Shot” was Bena...
You get what you pay for, the saying goes, and Netflix seems determined to prove that point with a cheaper, ad-supported tier that also comes with a smaller, worse catalog. As Protocol reports, the backbone of the ad-supported tier seems likely to be Netflix originals. Many of the company’s existing contracts for third-party content would allow other companies to take a slice of the ad-money pie, and while co-CEO Ted Sarandos has been trying to renegotiate those deals, it’s hard to convince other companies to willingly take less money. “We will clear some additional content, but certainly not all of it,” Sarandos said. “But I don’t think it’s a material hold-back to the business.” Advertisement Related Video He added, “The vast majority of what people watch on Netflix, we ca...
Grab your dice and sharpen your pencil, Hasbro and Paramount Pictures unveiled the first trailer for Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves during day one of Comic-Con. The film will charge into theaters on March 3rd, 2023. This is the second attempt at a DnD franchise, following the disastrous film released in 2000. It’s too early to tell whether the producers have earned an inspiration point or failed a wisdom save, but there’s no doubt they’ve assembled a kick-ass adventuring party led by Chris Pine, Rege-Jean Page, Jason Wong, Michelle Rodriguez, Justice Smith, and Sophia Lillis, not to mention Hugh Grant doing what Hugh Grant does best: play a villain. Pine described the film as, “It’s Game of Thrones with Princess Bride and with a little bit of Spin...

BRISBANE, Australia — After two editions were wiped out by the pandemic, the first day Splendour in the Grass 2022 was sunk by Mother Nature. Inclement weather turned the site into a quagmire on the eve of this year’s show, held July 22-24 in Byron Bay, the picturesque beach town at the most easterly point of Australia. By midday on Friday (July 22), the grounds were deemed to be unmanageable. “In the interest of patrol safety and in consultation with all relevant emergency services,” reads a statement from Splendour organizers, “we have decided to err on the side of caution and cancel all performances on the main stages today only.” The reason: a “significant weather system” currently sitting off the country’s east coast which “may reach land later today, bringing more rainfall.” Statemen...
