A New LGBTQ+ Festival Celebrating Queer Club Culture is Launching in London

East London is receiving its first queer dance music festival, Body Movements. Attendees can expect a multi-venue rave that will span across 16 spaces in Hackney Wick on September 10th, 2021. DJ Saoirse Ryan and Little Gay Brother’s Clayton Wright are behind the fest, which aims to unite the LGBTQ+ dance music scene through an eclectic day and night of programming. In the thick of the global pandemic, Insomniac Events‘ Day Trip Festival gave West Coast dance music fans hope when organizers announced plans for a brand new LA Waterfront festival. Tickets sold out within just over an hour. After months of anxiously awaiting more news, house-heads were thrilled when Day Trip dropped a huge announcement on May 26th. Ultra Music Festival and Downtown Miami Residents Reach Agreement After Bitter Feud

After a long and often bitter feud, the organizers of Ultra Music Festival and residents of Downtown Miami have reached an agreement to allay tensions related to local disturbances. Ultra and the Downtown Neighbors Alliance—a neighborhood organization representing a dozen residential communities—have announced that the festival will implement a “community standards program” that addresses a litany of issues such as construction schedules, park closures, traffic management, and noise impact. Veld Music Festival Moves to 2022, Announces Headliners Martin Garrix and Marshmello

As North American music festivals return at a dizzying pace, Toronto’s Veld Music Festival has sadly met a different fate. Organizers today announced that the 2021 edition of Veld has been moved to 2022, citing the uncertainty of the pandemic. The silver lining for fans, however, is the fact that EDM superstars Martin Garrix and Marshmello have been confirmed as headliners for the new dates. “Due to continuing COVID-19 restrictions and our commitment to the safety of our fans and staff, Veld Music Festival will be postponed until 2022,” reads the statement before announcing the event’s headliners. Lights All Night Adds TOKiMONSTA, Dombresky, AC Slater to Puerto Vallarta Lineup

Headliners Justice, Nina Kraviz and Tchami have already put Lights All Night‘s first ever Puerto Vallarta edition on the 2021 festival roadmap, and the event’s full Phase 1 lineup only sweetens the deal. Announced May 21st, the lineup features TOKiMONSTA, Dombresky and Mat Zo, along with a Night Bass stage takeover hosted by label head AC Slater. Fuji Rock Asks Attendees to “Refrain From Speaking” With Other Festival-Goers

Along with typical music festival essentials like a backpack or water bottle, those interested in attending Japan’s Fuji Rock Festival may need to purchase a muzzle. As if organizers used the screenplay for A Quiet Place as a blueprint, one of the event’s official COVID-19 measures asks attendees to “refrain from raising your voice or speaking with other festival goers while inside the festival.” Another asks that they “do not cheer, shout or have unnecessary conversations” during performances. GRiZ is back with a chip on his shoulder after a brutal year for the live music scene. Less than a month after announcing his brand new galaxy-themed Virginia music fest Space Camp, the beloved electronic producer and saxophonist has announced a new curated event called Another World. The three-day event, which GRiZ dubbed an “interdimensional, immersive experience” in a tweet, will go down in Denver over Halloween weekend from October 29th to 31st at Broomfield’s 1STBANK Center. As restrictions on large gathering continue to lift across the nation, it’s safe to say that music festivals as officially back. The latest major festival brand to make its comeback after a year devoid of live music is Chicago’s iconic Lollapalooza, which is set to return to Grant Park from July 29th to August 1st. Variety reports that the city of Chicago gave the fest the green-light “at near-to or full-capacity,” according to industry insiders.
