Taylor Swift’s City of Lover Concert Special Coming to ABC
Like all other major touring artists, Taylor Swift won’t be performing any of her planned concerts this year due to the pandemic. Fortunately for her fans, they will still have a chance to see the pop star “live” when the Taylor Swift City of Lover Concert special airs next weekend on ABC. The special will premiere on Sunday, May 17th at 10:00 p.m. EDT, and will be available on demand, on Hulu, and on Disney+ the following day. City of Lover captures Swift’s intimate performance at Paris’ 2,000-capacity L’Olympia Theater from September 9th, 2019. Within Temptation Unleash New Song “Entertain You”: Stream
Within Temptation have released the new song “Entertain You”, a stand-alone single that was intended to coincide with the Dutch symphonic metal band’s now-postponed European tour with Evanescence. The song crashes in with heavy, towering riffs, before pulling back for Sharon den Adel’s emotive vocals. According to a press release “Entertain You” is about “the urge for self-gratification at the expense of others.” A statement from the band further explained, “Offenses, victimization, and exploitation. Cut Copy Return with New Single “Love Is All We Share”: Stream
Cut Copy are back just in time to give you something to dance about. The Australian electronic group have returned with a new single called “Love Is All We Share” and a vibrant music video, both of which are a fitting mood for the current state of the world. This is the first slice of new music Cut Copy have shared in almost three years. It follows their 7-inch single “Ocean Blue” from 2018 and their fifth studio album, Haiku from Zero, which came out in 2017. The legend goes that on Mother’s Day of 1964, the R&B group Soul Giants handed over the reins to their new lead guitarist Frank Zappa, who then switched the band’s name to The Mothers. When record label executives balked, Zappa riffed on an old proverb about necessity, and The Mothers of Invention were born. The freak rock trailblazers went through a variety of personnel changes over the years, and by the ’70s Zappa had mostly dropped the “of Invention”. Foo Fighters Share 2006 Skin and Bones Concert Film for Free: Watch
In 2006, the Foo Fighters performed an acoustic concert at Los Angeles’ Pantages Theatre. The show was packaged as a CD and film, both called Skin and Bones, and as a charity fundraiser the Foos have now released that iconic footage for free. Watch it below. On Thursday came the sad news that onetime Bad Company singer Brian Howe had died at age 66 of cardiac arrest. Apparently, the headlines led some to think that founding and current Bad Company frontman Paul Rodgers had passed, leading the legendary rock vocalist to assure fans, “I’m very much alive.” However, Rodgers didn’t acknowledge Howe in his video message, and that very well may have had to do with the pair’s relationship. Live Nation Planning to Resume Concerts at “Full Scale” Beginning in 2021
Some health experts warn that live music shouldn’t return until a COVID-19 vaccine is readily available — something which could take until fall 2021. Ultimately, though, the decision rests in the hands of individuals like Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino, whose company is responsible for staging thousands of concert tours across the globe. During a call with investors on Thursday (via Variety), Rapino said Live Nation plans to resume concerts, albeit in a limited and scaled-down capacity, over the next six months, with the goal of getting back to “full scale” at the start of 2021. In the short-term, Rapino said Live Nation will be “starting slow and small,” experimenting with fan-less or reduced-capacity shows.
