As the old adage goes: if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Enter Kygo, who has teamed up with X Ambassadors for a signature tropical house anthem called “Undeniable.” The Norwegian superstar, who is ubiquitously considered one of the genre’s originators, has utilized his tried-and-true formula for the new single, a breezy dance anthem. Released today, October 15th, “Undeniable” is poetry in motion. The single ebbs and flows with Kygo’s classic sound, highlighted by warm vocal chops and bubbly guitar plucks. It’s a love song at its core, and one that arrives right ahead of cuffing season. “I’ve always had an affinity for big-ass love songs but don’t often end up writing them,” said X Ambassadors lead singer-so...

It’s been nearly one month since Ozuna announced that a collaboration was on the way with DJ Snake, Megan Thee Stallion and Lisa of K-pop powerhouse group BLACKPINK. Now, with an official teaser out in the world, it appears the time has finally come for this hit-in-waiting. The artists took to social media this week with a short, 30-second clip featuring a preview of the crossover song’s audio, which features seductive horns and a hypnotic reggaeton rhythm. While the video doesn’t reveal a title or release date, it does tease the song’s initials, “SG,” and hints at the phrase “sexy girl.” Only time will tell if this creative endeavor proves as wildly successful as “Taki Taki,” which saw Snak...
Delerium and Sarah McLachlan‘s 1999 trance classic “Silence” has received the remix treatment from Brennan Heart and Dailucia. The remixes were released on the I AM HARDSTYLE label, an imprint of Nettwerk Music Group. Heart begins the slow transcendence into the abyss with deep pads underneath McLachlan’s timeless vocals. As the energy picks up and the silence dissipates, he quickly flings into a ferocious sound with pitched kicks and a heavily sidechained synth. Heart knows how to break up the continuation, though, as the second build-up and drop are quite a bit different than the first one. The supersaw synth melody he implements for the second drop takes us entirely out of the silence as the melody plays the main vocal line. The hard mixes ...
“You want to dance. I want to lead,” croons dance-electronica virtuoso Elderbrook at the top of his new EP, Innerlight. The lyric couldn’t be more fitting. Out October 9th via Big Beat Records, Innerlight is a four-track whirlwind of hypnotic synths, house-adjacent ballads and atmospheric dance breaks. At its best, it’s a refined level-up from Elderbrook’s signature brand of euphoric dance-pop, leaning into layered song structures that move beyond his leading vocal lines. The project’s titular single with Bob Moses, for example, twists and turns with anticipative piano builds and weighty bass beats across its moody soundscape. “Dominoes” (with Louis the Child) glows with muted synth tones and a textured percussion line while ...
Versatile German DJ and dance music producer Kid Vincent has returned with Restart (the Dance), a scintillating new EP to dance into the weekend. The three-tracker was released with one goal in mind: to galvanize fans to get back on the dance-floor after a lost year. Restart (the Dance) kicks off with “Owe Me Time,” an anthemic future house tune that fans of Tchami or Oliver Heldens will have on repeat. The EP then takes a menacing turn with “All the Little Things,” a surefire standout. The track’s heartfelt verses feature bubbly horns and the warm tonality of San Francisco-based singer-songwriter Ryan Lucas, but the arrangement eventually switches into a club-ready tech house bomb. Kid Vincent then ties a bow on the record with “Ghost,...
Electronic music artists and enthusiasts tend to have a fascination with showcasing the darkest elements in the universe. We’ve seen everything from Vantablack-covered stage setups to beats made from NASA X-rays to… music generated from a black hole? You may be thinking to yourself, “How does one create music from space where there is no sound?” Well, that little limitation wasn’t going to stop Belgian mathematician Valery Vermeulen, who thought outside the box to create a three-track project called Mikromedas SrgA+. Vermeulen leveraged data gathered by Voyager Satellite, a space probe located over 14 billion miles away, to synthesize electromagnetic radiation waves being emitted from black holes and turn them into musical composition...
Crossovers between rock and electronic music are commonplace nowadays, though they aren’t always predictable. Enter former Guns N’ Roses and current SIXX:A.M. guitarist DJ Ashba, who has announced an upcoming electronic remix of the Italian folk classic “Bella Ciao.” Ashba was first inspired to remix the song after hearing it in Netflix’s international hit Money Heist. He’s described it as “epic and dramatic,” combining rock and electronic elements to create what he’s labeled “guitar dance music,” or GDM for short. The track, due out on October 29th, aims to offer a high-powered ode to the original. “After becoming completely obsessed with Money Heist, I became so inspired by ‘Bella Ciao’ and the histo...
Scott Stapp has formally been welcomed—with arms wide open—into the bass music community. Wooli and Trivecta have tapped the Creed frontman for an anthemic collaboration called “Light Up The Sky.” “Light Up The Sky” is a story of growth and how change comes from within. The triumphant feel of the tune helps convey this message as soaring melodies and explosive synths lead the charge. Stapp’s distinct timbre adds to the commanding feel of the arrangement, helping cultivate an inspirational atmosphere. In his first foray into electronic music, everything felt natural for Stapp. “When I first heard the track, I instantly started recording melodies and lyrics. The piano, builds, crescendos, drops, and overall vibes just connect...
Does Martin Garrix ever sleep? It’s been a busy year for the young dance music titan, who has now teamed up with Dutch compatriot Julian Jordan and famed hip-hop artist Tinie Tempah for “Diamonds,” a new single released under Garrix’s STMPD RCRDS banner. The track is an electro house banger designed for the hedonistic festival nights we’ve all longed for since the onset of the pandemic. According to Jordan, the record was finished in one night after Garrix had an o-dark-thirty epiphany one night. “While working on ‘Diamonds’ I got a call from Martijn in the middle of the night; he had the idea of putting Tinie on the track, Jordan said in a press release. “I rushed to his house and we finished the demo together that night. A f...
Of The Trees has unveiled his latest single “Windhorse,” marking the visceral bass storyteller’s first chapter of his forthcoming EP, Tale of Elegos, due out October 27th. Spun in a natural and hypnotic ethos, Tale Of Elegos will showcase a collection of five tracks of ambient, downtempo electronic records. In addition to “Windhorse” collaborator Sophie Marks, the EP will feature Kala and Mary Coso, expanding the Denver-based beatsmith’s unique sound. Opening with elements of biomusic like rustling leaves and chirping bird samples, a gentle flute melody chimes in and eventually builds into a tribal beat drop, where fuzzy basslines underscore Marks’ sultry lyrics. Rhythmic percussion and warm, distorted synths ebb and flow throughout before the arrangement fades into a coda inspi...
Avicii receives another beautiful homage from “Fade Into Darkness” vocalist Andreas Moe, who has premiered a stunning acoustic version on EDM.com. Five-time Platinum-certified songwriter Moe is the original vocalist for the song and wanted to pay tribute on the 10-year anniversary of its release. “Fade Into Darkness,” which remains a favorite amongst fans of the late electronic music icon, was Moe’s first big feature back in 2011. It remains a generational dance anthem to this day. The tune’s original sound is upbeat in nature with soaring vocals to complement it, but Moe’s acoustic rendition allows the listener to take a step back and admire the message laid out within. Moe keeps it barebones and allows for his warm guitar pluc...
