Less than a week after debuting it at Riot Fest, post-hardcore supergroup L.S. Dunes have dropped their new single “2022.” It’s the latest preview of their debut album Past Lives, which is due out in November. L.S. Dunes are fronted by Circa Survive’s Anthony Green with My Chemical Romance’s Frank Iero,  Coheed and Cambria’s Travis Stever, and Thursday’s Tim Payne and Tucker Rule. When they debuted the track at Riot Fest, Green described it as “the most fucked-up song I ever wrote.” “2022” actually appeared on Green’s most recent solo album Boom. Done. before being removed from streaming services a month later and being reworked as the opening track on Past Lives. “If I can’t make it ’til 2022,” Green sings over a wall of swirling guitars. “At least we’ll see how l...

Harry Styles and Florence Pugh Drop Collaborative Song from ‘Don’t Worry Darling’

Harry Styles and Florence Pugh — stars of Olivia Wilde’s oh-so-controversial sophomore directorial Don’t Worry Darling — have released a collaborative song from the movie, titled “With You All the Time.” Notably, Pugh takes the lead on vocals, and Styles does not sing on the cinematic cut; he simply delivers piano lines. The track is credited to the aforementioned actors’ respective characters, Jack and Alice. “With You All the Time” arrives following reports that Styles had written a key song for the movie, which Pugh’s character reportedly sings to herself throughout the film. In a Variety cover story interview, Wilde recounted how exactly the so-called “trigger song” came to be. “In prep, Harry called me and said, ‘What’s the trigger song? Like, what’s the melody?’” Wilde told the ...

San Diego State University to Offer a Course on Bad Bunny in 2023

Whether it be music, sneaker collaborations or even apparel team-ups with Cheetos, pretty much everything that Bad Bunny touches turns to gold. His impact — especially on the Latinx community — has been felt on a global scale, so much in fact that San Diego State University announced that a course on the Puerto Rican icon will be offered to students starting in 2023. The college class will fall under the School of Journalism and Media Studies and will be taught by Dr. Nate Rodriguez — an associate director of journalism and media studies at the southern California-based institution. He’s also taught a course on Selena Quintanilla-Perez in the past. “Bad Bunny has transformed reggaeton like no other artist has,” Rodriguez said in an interview with CBS News. “When you think about reggaeton, ...

Lil Baby is the voice behind the new anthem for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Taking place in Qatar from November 20 to December 18, the event will mark the 22nd iteration of the international competition, as well as just the second World Cup to be held in Asia. “The World Is Yours To Take” remixes the iconic 1985 Tears For Fears‘ single “Everybody Wants To Rule The World.” Interspersed with backup vocals from Tears for Fears frontman Curt Smith, Lil Baby encourages players to leave their all out on the field. “I’m by far one of the hardest workers / Real firm believer in ‘practice makes perfect,’” Lil Baby raps. “You can gather all the water, stay thirsty / Took a lot to get us here, we broke curses.” An official music video for the anthem will be shot on-site at the World Cup in Qatar. Lewis Capaldi Recalls the Time He Drunkenly Sent Harry Styles a ‘You Up’ Message: ‘He Didn’t Say No’

Looks like Lewis Capaldi was doing some “Late Night Talking” with none other than Harry Styles himself. During a new interview with Kiss FM UK, Capaldi remembered an instance during which he sent Styles a video at five in the morning — except he doesn’t remember what the video said. “I don’t know what it was — I was hammered,” he said with a laugh. “But he said to me, ‘This feels like a ‘you up’ text.’ I could’ve sent him an unsolicited picture of my … phone.” But, he added, the interaction wasn’t a complete wash: “I mean, he didn’t say no! In fact, he seemed quite agreeable to the proposition.” Of course, Capaldi’s friendship with Niall Horan puts him just one degree of separation away from the “As It Was” singer. But he also recalled the recent moment when he and Horan went busking toget...

Launching tomorrow (September 24) at the city’s Pier 80, the two-day event was conceived by Danny Bell, VP Talent Buyer for AEG Presents in San Francisco, who came up with the concept after a 2016 music-fueled traipse through Europe’s electronic hubs. Bell had just left his job as Talent Buyer for HARD Events in Los Angeles, where he’d worked before after graduating from USC. (“I graduated on a Friday and was full time [at HARD] on a Monday,” he says.) Freddie Gibbs Gets “Dark Hearted” on New James Blake-Produced Single: Stream

Freddie Gibbs is back with “Dark Hearted,” another look at his upcoming album $oul $old $separately that features production from James Blake. Listen to the single below. “Dark Hearted” has that James Blake melancholy touch, particularly with the sweeping classical piano that accompanies the track’s machine gun beat. Gibbs offers a similar juxtaposition in his lyrics, rapping about the disconnect of still being “rich with mob ties.” “I knew you wouldn’t fuck with me if I didn’t have no loot,” he sighs. $oul $old $eparately is out September 30th, and pre-orders are ongoing. Gibbs announced the album earlier this month by sharing “Too Much,” a single featuring Moneybagg Yo that we named Rap Song of the Week.
