Teenage Head Guitarist Gord Lewis Found Dead in Apparent Homicide

Founding Teenage Head guitarist Gord Lewis was found dead over the weekend in his Hamilton, Ontario apartment, The Spectator reports. According to police, his death is being investigated as a homicide. In a press briefing, Hamilton Detective Sara Beck said police received information related to a deceased person. Upon visiting Lewis’ residence, police “located a deceased male in his 60s” with “injuries consistent with foul play.” However, Beck added that “a positive identification has not been made of the deceased due to the level of decomposition…an autopsy will be performed and additional steps taken to identify the deceased.” Police charged Jonathan Lewis, Gord’s son, with second-degree murder in the case, and Beck said police were not seeking additional suspects. The Game has shared a lengthy tracklist for his forthcoming tenth studio album, Drillmatic: Heart Vs. Mind. After a series of delays in putting the project together, the LP is slated to drop this Friday, August 12. The Compton rapper originally planned to release Drillmatic at the beginning of this year but wound up postponing its debut a few times. Last week, he penned an Instagram post explaining the reasons behind the delay, including he had been receiving physical therapy for injuries due to overexercising. Nicki Minaj will be honored with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards. The ceremony is scheduled to take place at New Jersey’s Prudential Center on August 28. The 17-time nominee will also be performing live at the VMAs. She last took the ceremony’s stage in 2018, where she was awarded Best Hip-Hop Video for her single “Chun Li.” At the event, she performed her hit tracks “Majesty” and “Barbie Dreams.” The VMAs haven’t awarded any honorees in the last two years due to the pandemic, with the last show taking place in 2019.
