Maya Hawke, star of Stranger Things and eldest child of Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke, has announced her sophomore album, Moss. It drops September 23rd, and as a preview she’s shared the lead single, “Thérèse.” Hawke announced the follow-up to 2020’s Blush during an appearance on The Tonight Show this week, where she also said, “Fuck the Supreme Court,” and claimed “I don’t remember” what happened in Season 4 of Stranger Things. Gucci Mane has returned with a new track, dubbed “All Dz Chainz,” featuring Lil Baby, with production from Wheezy and Juke Wong. Today, Steve Lacy dropped a new track titled “Bad Habit” with an accompanying music video. From his forthcoming album Gemini Rights, the new track marks Lacy’s second release in anticipation of the album’s summer release. Fused with a funky bassline, smooth tempo and electronic effects, the track discusses regret over a failed love interest. Bookending the revamp of Billboard‘s Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart in June 2020, which expanded the scope of rock and alternative titles eligible to appear on the ranking, Billboard now presents the Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart, which, effective this week (for the chart dated July 2), will employ the same model as Hot Rock & Alternative Songs, whereby any titles deemed rock, alternative (even if core-pop or core-any other genre) and/or hard rock will be eligible to appear. Released in March via PH and Loma Vista Recordings, the project is Curry’s fifth studio album and features production from FnZ, Thundercat, JPEGMafia and Kenny Beats, among other contributors. LUCI has signed to Don’t Sleep Records and unveiled her debut single, “Ash & Dust,” a wildly original statement that points towards the future of hip-hop. The artist born Lucianna Ania is a trip-hop veteran, and as part of the now-defunct band Defbeat she was influenced by groups like Death Grips and Massive Attack. But if “Ash & Dust” is any indication, her solo project will vibe check everything from punk and gospel to Kanye West. The track opens with waves of dark synths before stripping back to layers of skittering percussion.
