Change.org has recently removed a fan-made petition that was meant to campaign for Travis Scott‘s return to Coachella following the Astroworld incident that left many dead and injured. The decision to remove Scott was in response to immense backlash from fans and the industry. While this is the case, a petition to get Scott back to the festival was reportedly created earlier this week following the announcement that Scott has been removed from the Coachella 2022 lineup. The petition, which was set on Change.org amassed over 70,000 signatures in just three days. However, overnight, the numbers dropped from 70,000 to less than 5,000. Neil Young has taken a stand against Spotify and Joe Rogan over COVID-19 falsehoods, following through on his ultimatum to leave the streaming giant if it continued to platform The Joe Rogan Experience. This will come as no surprise to longtime fans; Young has long been a proponent of vaccination, going back to his battle with polio when he was about five years old. According to his 2012 memoir Waging Heavy Peace, the “Harvest Moon” singer was diagnosed with polio in 1951 and spent time in Toronto’s Sick Children’s Hospital as he battled the life-threatening disease. Grimes is continuing her quest to become “post-human,” which in this case means covering herself in white lines. The pop provocateur shared two images of her new chest tattoo on Instagram. Stylistically, it’s a continuation of the back tat she received last year, which she referred to as “beautiful alien scars.” This time, she wrote, “The long slow effort to have a full alien body. gna be totally covered in white ink… post-human.” Considering the paleness of the canvas, you may have to squint to make out the ink. Bleachers Announce 2022 Tour
Jack Antonoff and his band Bleachers have announced “the 2022 tour” in support of their latest album Take the Sadness out of Saturday Night. Antonoff has built his reputation through his friendliness with other artists, and so it’s perhaps unsurprising that this tour has a killer lineup of openers. Wolf Alice, Blu DeTiger, Charly Bliss, The Lemon Twigs, beabadoobee, and Allison Ponthier will all accompany Bleachers along the trek. “the 2022 tour” opens in Boston on March 24th.
