Garth Brooks Brings The Hits, Salutes His Heroes at Nashville Show

Garth Brooks’s concert Thursday (Nov. 18) at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville was billed as “an intimate evening” with the superstar — and with just an acoustic guitar, no band, and a lengthy list of iconic songs, Brooks certainly lived up to the promise. Explore See latest videos, charts and news See latest videos, charts and news At one moment soon after making his way onto the austere Opry House stage, Brooks gestured to the center stage circle of wood that was taken from the Grand Ole Opry’s former home at the Ryman Auditorium and installed when the Opry House opened in 1974—calling it “the same floorboards that the greatest of all have stood on.” From there, he offered a snippet of “Three Wooden Crosses,” which Randy Travis turned into a hit in 2002. Throughout the evening, Brook...

Freddie Gibbs Reunites with Jadakiss on “Black Illuminati”: Stream

Freddie Gibbs and Jadakiss have shared “Black Illuminati,” their first song together in nearly a decade. The single is out now via Warner Records. “Black Illuminati” celebrates the rappers’ growing success with healthy skepticism — having money is great, but it’s become all the more clear these days that the hip-hop game comes with certain dangers. “They want to take me out this game like Sha’Carri/ Black Illuminati, touch big rabbits, streets need a body,” Gibbs spits in the minimal track. The duo rap in a lavish mansion in the song’s music video, further confirmation of their recent gains. Listen to the single below. Gibbs and Jadakiss last worked together on “Krazy,” a cut from Gibbs’ 2012 album Baby Face Killa. A lot has happened since then. Following the 2020 release of Alfredo, ...

100 gecs Unveil New Song “mememe”: Stream

100 gecs are back with the new song “mememe,” out now via Big Beat Records. The single offers the first look at Dylan Brady and Laura Les’ follow up to 1000 gecs, their 2019 hodgepodge debut that blew up on TikTok and brought hyperpop (and Brady’s coveted producer’s touch) to a greater audience. In the grand (albeit short) tradition of the duo, “mememe” blows out pop melodies, as heavy bass and guitar crunch meld with autotuned vocals and glitchy production. “You’ll never really know anything about me,” goes Brady’s refrain, which amps up the song’s angsty pop-punk feel. Watch the song’s accompanying video below. 100 gecs have teased their sophomore album, 10,000 gecs, on social media, but the record hasn’t yet received a proper release date. Since 1000 gecs, the duo have remixed the ...

Much of the LP’s subject matter details the emotion surrounding her split from ex-husband Simon Konecki, whom she divorced in 2021. In an interview with Apple Music, the superstar explained that she rejected her label’s advice to pander to the TikTok generation with her new music. “If everyone’s making music for the TikTok, who’s making the music for my generation? Who’s making the music for my peers?” she asked. “I will do that job gladly. I’d rather cater to people that are on my level in terms of, like, the amount of time we’ve spent on Earth ...
