QAnon Believers, Still Waiting in Dallas, Sing “Take Me Home, Country Roads” to JFK Jr.: Watch

Last week, hundreds of QAnon followers gathered in Dallas to witness the return of John F. Kennedy Jr., who is dead. When he failed to appear at Dealey Plaza, they waited for him at The Rolling Stones’ concert that night (“Rolling Stones? Rolling away the stone!” one Q influencer said), and when he once again stood them up, some of the attendees did something remarkable: they kept waiting. A few dozen are still congregated at Dealey Plaza, occasionally forming a circle to sing the strange psalm of this faith: John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads.” As Steven Moncelli of Protean Magazine reported on Twitter, these true believers are replacing “West Virginia” with the words “Dealey Plaza,” to better distinguish their own needs from Mr. Denver’s. Monacelli noted that “some of them also r...

Billie Eilish is “Happier Than Ever” Singing on Sesame Street: Watch

Billie Eilish recently took a break from stadiums and festivals to sing on the more humble soundstage of Sesame Street. The artist swung by the beloved children’s show to perform a new version of her hit “Happier Than Ever” with The Count meant to help kids count to two. Watch the performance below. “When I’m counting with you, I’m happier than ever,” the singer tells the vampire in this stoop serenade. “Numbers sound so much better,” the puppet replies. Eilish also helps a shivering Burt count his sweaters, and adds up the noggins on the Two-Headed Monster. Even Elmo lends a hand. Big Bird, meanwhile, just looks on in awe. Maybe he was starstruck. Eilish is one of many stars joining the Muppets for Sesame Street’s 52nd season, debuting November 11th on HBO Max. Musicians Kacey Musgraves, ...

In a new video, the 11-year-old wunderkind has an in-person drum battle with none other than Queen legend Roger Taylor. Nandi recently returned to her native England after a US trip that saw her jam “Everlong” onstage with Foo Fighters at a Los Angeles concert, and record an original song called “The Children Will Rise Up” with Tom Morello and his son Roman. “I have just had another INCREDIBLE day,” wrote Nandi in the YouTube description of the Roger Taylor video. “I just jammed with @Roger Taylor Solo the AMAZING drummer from @Queen Official!!! Mr Taylor was so nice and kind to me. We had a little drum battle then we jammed a few Queen songs. I am so grateful and truly app...

beabadoobee Says Her Next Album Will Sound Completely New: “Every Single Song is in a Whole Different World”

beabadoobee has had quite a year. Following the release of her long-awaited 2020 debut album Fake It Flowers, the Londoner upped the ante and wrote and recorded Our Extended Play EP, released in June, with labelmates Matty Healy and George Daniel of The 1975. And finally, as restrictions have begun to lift and live music is returning, beabadoobee is back on the road, currently touring through North America with fellow Dirty Hit signees BLACKSTARKIDS and Christian Leave as support. As Bea’s sound has transformed from her lo-fi bedroom pop to a heavier, grunge-forward vibe, her songwriting itself has become much more specific and noteworthy. Seeing her show at Webster Hall in New York City last week, it was extremely clear that this sonic evolution has come to define the project and its futu...

By Lucas Villa In the three years she has spent navigating the music industry as a solo artist, Lauren Jauregui has explored new sounds and discovered the strength in her struggles. On “Colors,” a gauzy and personal new song that ends with the 25-year-old reciting a spoken-word reflection, she reveals: “Creator’s watching, I know that much / Sat me down and told me to stop watching, start doing.” These lessons, coupled with a newfound determination, encompass her intimately vulnerable debut EP, Prelude, released on November 5. “I would say they’ve been very healing and introspective,” Jauregui says over Zoom about her solo years after her group, Fifth Harmony, went on indefinite hiatus in March 2018. “I’ve been very much in my own little cave of thoughts...

Phoebe Bridgers Takes MUNA to Prom Performing “Silk Chiffon” on Cordon: Watch

Phoebe Bridgers and MUNA  put themselves on the prom court during a performance of “Silk Chiffon” on The Late Late Show with James Corden. A sea of pink balloons framed the stage, as MUNA stood in front of silver fringe curtain with the word “MUNA” spelled out in latex and helium. Vocalist Katie Gavin wore a flowing skirt and a tiara, though the skirt didn’t make it through the first verse before it was flung away. Bridgers stepped out of the wings before the second verse wearing a tiara of her own, and together they rocked through the irresistible track. Check out “Silk Chiffon” below. “Silk Chiffon” came out in September and we named it our Song of the Week. Both Phoebe Bridgers and MUNA are currently on tour. NNAMDÏ Announces New EP Are You Happy, Shares “Backseat”: Stream

Are BTS Getting Ready to Drop A New Album? A Brief Investigation

Buckle up, everyone: the biggest group on the planet seems to be gearing up for a new release. BTS may not have dropped a full-length album in 2021, but that hasn’t stopped them from breaking records and dominating the charts with their two singles, “Butter” and “Permission to Dance.” The Bangtan Boys have been a bit quiet lately — and sure, that could be because they just wrapped their Permission to Dance online concert, or because they’re preparing for their upcoming stint at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. This is the longest break BTS has ever taken between albums as the one-year mark approaches since the release of the tender, pandemic-era BE. Early 2020 also included the massive release of Map of the Soul: 7, so it’s been a while since fans had a full album to unpack. ARMY has...
