Over the Hallowen weekend (October 29th-31st), Tame Impala, Lizzo, Vampire Weekend, Glass Animals, The Strokes, Caroline Polachek, Sofi Tukker, Rico Nasty and more artists lit up the scenic Golden Gate Park for the Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival. Judge Tosses Out Restraining Order Requests Filed Against Josh Homme on Behalf of Sons
On Friday, a judge dismissed the pending restraining order petitions filed against Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme on behalf of his two young sons. Judge Lawrence Riff ruled that Homme’s ex-wife and the boys’ mother, Brody Dalle, had sought the restraining orders without the proper court authorization, according to Rolling Stone. The petitions previously failed to win emergency approval. A restraining order taken out against Homme by the former couple’s 15-year-old daughter remains in place. Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators took extra precautions while recording their upcoming album, 4. Unfortunately, that didn’t stop most of them from contracting COVID-19 during the process. Adele’s 30 Tracklist Includes Relatable Song Titled “I Drink Wine”
Adele, she’s just like us — in one way, at least. Today, the tracklist for her upcoming album, 30, popped up on the listing for Target’s exclusive deluxe edition, and it revealed her alcoholic drink of choice: wine. R.I.P. Malcolm Dome, Veteran Music Journalist Who Coined the Term “Thrash Metal” Dies at 66
Malcolm Dome, a longtime music journalist who primarily covered metal and hard rock, has died at the age of 66. The veteran writer is credited with coining the term “thrash metal” in an article about Anthrax in 1984. The UK journalist got his start in the 1970s, writing for Record Mirror and Metal Fury magazines, before landing with Kerrang! upon its launch in 1981. His passing was reported by the website Louder, which encompasses the magazines Prog, Classic Rock, and Metal Hammer, all of which Dome contributed to during his lengthy journalism career. In 1981, Dome put out a book called Encyclopedia Metallica, which may have inspired the legendary metal band’s name.
