Wolfgang Van Halen has some choice words for those requesting that his band Mammoth WVH cover Van Halen songs. The son of the late Eddie Van Halen insists that he’s “not f**king playing ‘Panama’ for you guys.” Mammoth WVH are back opening for Guns N’ Roses after missing a few shows due to a member of the group’s touring personnel (not a band member) testing positive for COVID-19. Wolfgang and company have also been playing headlining dates on GN’R’s off days. Inevitably, Mammoth WVH’s first tour has been greeted with some fans who apparently don’t realize that the band plays entirely original music, written and recorded by Wolfgang and culled from the outfit’s self-titled debut album. They’re not a Van Halen tribute act. Advertisement Related Video One user commented on Wolfgang’s Facebook...

In an unusual feat of dexterity, DaBaby has spent most of the last month with his foot planted firmly in his mouth. He accomplished it again Sunday at Hot 97 Summer Jam, when he apologized for his recent homophobic remarks before clarifying that many of the people who had been offended were “cry babies.” DaBaby has been alternating between contrition and defiance since his appearance at Rolling Loud Miami, when he singled out gay audience members and asked that they restrain from getting hyped along with the rest of the crowd. Since then he’s been booted from the bills of Lollapalooza, Governors Ball, Austin City Limits, and more. Summer Jam was one of his first high-profile appearances following the controversy. DaBaby opened the set with a pre-taped video in which he thanked Hot 97 ...

The Lyrics includes songs from McCartney’s solo work and years in the Beatles and Wings, such as “Blackbird,” “Live and Let Die,” “Hey Jude,” “Band on the Run” and “Yesterday.” The collection contains handwritten lyrics alongside previously unpublished photos, drafts, and drawings. Each song features commentary by McCartney about his creative process. Advertisement Related Video In the anthology’s foreword...
If the Great Potato Return wasn’t enough to make Taco Bell your fast food joint of choice, allow Lil Nas X to step in. Today, the “Old Town Road” phenomenon was announced as the chain’s first chief impact officer. This new role will reportedly see him take on an array of creatively-focused opportunities, including some “menu innovations” and “an exclusive experience” focused around the release of his forthcoming debut album, Montero. Lil Nas X is the first to hold this honorary role, which “combines food, music, and philanthropy.” As Billboard points out, he’ll also be teaming with the Taco Bell Foundation to benefit creative youth via the Live Más Scholarship, and will appear in the restaurant’s breakfast campaign. More “fan engagement opportunities” will be announced later this year. The...
Aerosmith have inked a new deal with Universal Music Group, bringing the legendary band’s entire recorded output and personal archives under the umbrella of one label. UMG announced the news today (August 23rd), offering details on the massive licensing deal. Universal is now the home of the band’s complete catalog. They will each help curate their own collections, and the archival material will be used in future releases to offer up previously unreleased music, rare photos, video footage, artwork, journals, setlists, and ...
Olivia Rodrigo surprise-dropped a new music video on Monday (August 23) showing how “Brutal” it is to be a teenager and wondering where her fucking teenage dream is, after all. Accompanied by an angsty grunge instrumental, the video introduces a choose-your-player selection channeling Adobe Flash web games from the dawn of the millennium. The cursor clicks on Rodrigo dressed in a pastel blue ballet outfit and matching wig. As she tries to perform en pointe, she falls over, horrified, as the other dancers dance perfectly around her. The video then shows a montage of Rodrigo singing about how “so sick of 17” she is and playing different roles: a gossipy reporter, a stressed out commercial star, a bitter high schooler, and a celebrity crying on Instagram Live. Rodrigo and her “two real friend...
What happened in Vegas didn’t quite stay in Vegas, but it did make a hasty return. Lady Gaga has announced a new Las Vegas residency, which begins in October on the site of her first Las Vegas residency at the Park MGM. Her next round of “Jazz & Piano” performances will kick off on October 14th and run through October 31st. Given that closing night is also Halloween, you have to imagine that Mother Monster has some spooky tricks up her sleeve. Pre-sale begins tomorrow for those who receive a special code at gagavegas.com. The general public will be able to book their seats starting Saturday, August 28th at 1:00 p.m. ET/1...
