It wasn’t compatible with who Berrin is as a person, and she didn’t like the way she was treated. So she began playing in a punk band, skipping classes, and “figuring shit out,” as she tells MTV News. She released an EP called Hate It Here in 2017, but the initial lineup of her group, Pom Pom Squad, eventually dissolved. She turned to solo shows, performing with just a guitar until she eventually met her current bandmates: guitarist Alex Mercuri, bassist Mari Alé Figeman, and drummer Shelby Keller. The team was set. Henson served as the ceremony’s host, giving encouragement and upliftment for all Black women. “Look at us. Look around the room. Look at this power. The grace, the class, the edges — we are everything, honey. Celebrating Black women isn’t a fad or a trend. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross to Produce Halsey’s New Album
Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are taking a pause from film scoring in order to produce Halsey’s new album. The Nine Inch Nails members are at the helm of Halsey’s upcoming fourth album, If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power, due for release later this year. The pop singer revealed the news in a Tweet on Monday that also included a brief snippet of music. Without making too much of a conclusion based on 10 seconds of music, it certainly seems like Reznor and Ross will be pairing Halsey’s powerhouse vocals with their trademark grimy industrial soundscapes. Babymetal Announce Budokan Live Album and Director’s Cut Livestream
Babymetal have announced a new live album, 10 Babymetal Budokan, recorded at the legendary Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, in addition to a director’s cut livestream of the performances. The album is out October 1st, while the streaming event goes live July 24th at 3 p.m. ET and will be viewable through July 25th at midnight PT. The Japanese pop-metal act began 2021 by continuing its 10th anniversary celebration with a series of 10 shows at Budokan. Those performances were culled into the “10 Babymetal Budokan World Premiere” livestream that recently aired. Cardi B Reveals She is Pregnant During Surprise Performance at BET Awards
Cardi B made a surprise appearance at tonight’s BET Awards and revealed she is pregnant with her second child. The “Up” rapper joined her husband, Offset, and the rest of Migos to perform their latest collaboration, “Type Shit”. She chose to share the big news by wearing a body suit with a hole cut out atop her stomach, revealing her baby bump for all to see. Cardi subsequently confirmed her pregnancy in an Instagram post tagging Offset.
