Eddie Munson may have been the breakout character of Stranger Things Season 4, a point proven by Netflix’s latest piece of marketing, a huge crop art installation the streaming service commissioned in his image. A new video, shot in a field “somewhere in Indiana,” shows a huge piece of crop art by artist Stan Herd depicting the beloved metalhead in all his glory. The aerial shots of the artwork are soundtracked, of course, by Metallica’s “Master of Puppets,” a fitting tribute for the character. “Eddie Munson 4 Ever,” the design reads. It leaves you wondering how far in advance Netflix commissioned the environmental piece, which was surely a lot of work, but apparently the streamer is always 10 steps ahead of the rest of us. Check out the crop art below. Actor Joseph Quinn did a lot of...
After an eight-year break, Cameron Diaz has unretired from the film industry and will reunite with Jamie Foxx for the Netflix action comedy Back in Action. Foxx made the reveal on Twitter by sharing audio from a staged phone call with Diaz in which they discuss her unretirement. When Diaz says she’s anxious about announcing her return, Foxx gives a hand-off to Tom Brady, who hops on the line to offer some advice. “I was talking to Jamie and he said you need a few tips on how to unretire,” Brady quips. “I’m relatively successful at unretiring.” For those who don’t pay attention to American football, the future Hall of Fame quarterback retired from the NFL earlier this year for a grand total of 40 days before announcing he was rejoining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Netflix has confirmed it will be launching a cheaper, ad-supported tier. The streamer’s co-CEO Ted Sarandos explaining the reasoning behind the lower-priced plan at Cannes Lions advertising festival on Thursday, June 23rd during a sitdown with Sway podcast host Kara Swisher. “We’ve left a big customer segment off the table, which is people who say, ‘Hey, Netflix is too expensive for me and I don’t mind advertising,’” said Sarandos (via The Hollywood Reporter). “We’re adding an ad tier; we’re not adding ads to Netflix as you know it today. We’re adding an ad tier for folks who say, ‘Hey, I want a lower price and I’ll watch ads.’” During Netflix’s last quarterly call in April, the company reported a loss of 200,000 subscribers, marking the first time its customer base has de...
