Blondshell Offers Dramatic Devotion on New Single “Cartoon Earthquake”: Stream

We’re keeping our eyes and ears locked on Blondshell, the indie rock project of New York-bred, Los Angeles-based musician Sabrina Teitelbaum. She’s only officially released a handful of singles so far, but she adds another promising one today with “Cartoon Earthquake,” as part of Spotify’s Fresh Finds developing artists program. Sonically, Blondshell can be categorized as angry girl music of the indie rock persuasion, layering the bleeding hearts of ’70 singer-songwriters over fuzzy, sweeping guitars reminiscent of the ’90s. Lyrically,  Teitelbaum specifically has a knack for writing about the nuances of love. Anderson .Paak and Knxwledge Reunite as NxWorries, Share “Where I Go”: Stream

Anderson .Paak and hip-hop producer Knxwledge have officially reunited as the duo NxWorries. To mark their return, they’ve shared a new single called “Where I Go” featuring H.E.R. NxWorries actually previewed “Where I Go” — sans H.E.R.’s verse — back in 2020 during a virtual performance at 88rising’s Double Happiness Winter Wonder Festival. Pivot Gang Bring the Fire (and Water, and Earth, and Air) on New Single “Aang”: Stream

Pivot Gang have returned with their first new song since 2019, and while it’s been a minute, the hip-hop collective is confident that they’ve mastered their craft like “Aang,” the Last Airbender. OTTTO (Tye Trujillo) Announce Fall Tour, Unveil New Live Single “My Pain”: Stream

OTTTO, the young band featuring Tye Trujillo (son of Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo), have unveiled the song “My Pain” from their upcoming Record Store Day release Locos Live in Venice. In addition the band has announced a run of fall tour dates. Locos Live in Venice features eight songs recorded at Juice Magazine headquarters at the Venice Beach boardwalk, including the new song “My Pain.” The live album, which was produced and mixed by Tim Harkins (Korn, Jerry Cantrell), will be released on November 25th as part of this tear’s Record Store Day Black Friday. It precedes a proper studio album set to arrive in Spring 2023. Boldy James Announces New Album Mr. Ten08, Shares “Flag on the Play”: Stream

Boldy James has announced his third album of 2022,  Mr. Ten08. Out on November 4th, the project features the lead single “Flag on the Play.” The 10-track LP was entirely produced by Toronto’s Futurewave and includes a sole feature from fellow Detroit rapper 2100 Bagz. As Shakira gears up for her 12th studio album, the Colombian superstar has called upon Ozuna for the second single, “Monotonía.” As the title suggests, the song is about the monotony that can occur when a couple gets too comfortable in a relationship. Caroline Polachek Rides Away into “Sunset” on New Single: Stream

After previewing the song throughout live performances over the past year, Caroline Polachek has officially released her new single, “Sunset.” Co-produced by Sega Bodega and Polachek, the track is layered with strumming guitar and hand claps as Polachek sings of all-encompassing love with lyrics like, “Your patience is a magic kind of medicine/ ‘Cause every spiral brings me/ Back into your arms again.” Polachek and Matt Copson co-directed the music video, which was shot on location in Barcelona and features the singer strolling through the streets and enjoying all the city has to offer until the sun goes down. Neil Young Announces Harvest 50th Anniversary Reissue, Shares Live Version of “Heart of Gold”: Stream

Neil Young will celebrate the 50th anniversary of his fourth studio album, Harvest, with a deluxe reissue out on December 2nd via Reprise. Available on 3xLP or 3xCD, the box set will come with the original album; three studio outtakes; a previously unreleased BBC solo performance recorded on February 23rd, 1971; and a documentary called Harvest Time. Also included are a hardbound photo book, posters, and liner notes by photographer Joel Bernstein. The outtakes included in the reissue are “Bad Fog of Loneliness,” “Journey Through the Past,” and “Dance Dance Dance.” Meanwhile, Harvest Time features footage from Young’s “Harvest Barn” sessions in Northern California along with recording sessions in Nashville and London. Blink-182 Return With Reunion Single “Edging”: Stream

Blink-182’s Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus, and Travis Barker are back together for the first time in nearly a decade. In addition to a mammoth world tour, the trio is also gearing up to release a new album, their first since 2011’s Neighborhoods . The lead single, “Edging,” is out today and can be streamed below. Green Day Announce Nimrod 25th Anniversary Box Set, Share Unreleased Demo “You Irritate Me”: Stream

Green Day have unveiled a new box set to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their fifth album, Nimrod. The three-piece collection was announced along with an unearthed track from that era, “You Irritate Me.” Nimrod 25 – 25th Anniversary Edition contains the 1997 LP along with a compilation of demos and a live recording from a headlining show at Philadelphia’s Electric Factory on November 14th, 1997, one month after the album’s release. The 14-track demo set features early takes of album cuts like “Nice Guys Finish Last” and “Walking Alone” as well as unreleased songs like “Tre Polka” and a cover of Elvis Costello’s “Alison.” Stream the set’s first offering, a demo of “You Irritate Me,” below. Queen Unearth Lost Freddie Mercury Song “Face It Alone”: Stream

Queen have unearthed a previously unreleased song featuring Freddie Mercury. Entitled “Face It Alone,” the track was originally recorded during the band’s 1988 sessions for their album The Miracle. Surviving Queen members Roger Taylor and Brian May discovered the song while working on a forthcoming reissue of The Miracle. “We’d kind of forgotten about this track,” admitted Taylor, “but there it was, this little gem. It’s wonderful, a real discovery. It’s a very passionate piece.” You can stream “Face It Alone” via a newly released lyric video below. “Face It Alone” will also appear on Queen’s forthcoming archival box set, The Miracle Collector’s  Edition, alongside several other unreleased recordings, demos, spoken word segments between band members, and more.
