The Afghan Whigs Share New Album How Do You Burn?: Stream
The Afghan Whigs have revealed their new album, How Do You Burn?, the band’s first release in five years. Greg Dulli and co. first got to work on How Do You Burn? in September 2020. Despite the years apart, the band were able to assemble the album remotely, with frontman Dulli, his co-producer Christopher Thorn and drummer Patrick Keeler together in California, bassist John Curley in Cincinnati, guitarist Jon Skibic in New Jersey, and strings man Rick Nelson in New Orleans. “Once we got the system down, we started flying,” Dulli says in a press release. Dulli also spoke about the album in a recent appearance on Kyle Meredith With…, detailing Thorn’s involvement and the saints and sinners that populate the collection. Rosalía Releases Motomami+ with Eight New Tracks: Stream
Rosalīa has shared a deluxe edition of her blockbuster third album, Motomami. Entitled Motomami+, the expanded set adds on eight tracks. In addition to “DESPECHÁ,” there are new songs called “AISLAMIENTO,” “LA KILIÉ,” “LAX,” and “CHIRI,” as well as a remix of “CANDY” and a live version of “LA FAMA.” Take a listen to Motomami+ below. Brian Eno has shared “We Let It In,” the latest preview of his upcoming solo album, FOREVERANDEVERNOMORE. Featuring backing vocals from his daughter Darla Eno, “We Let It In” follows in the footsteps of the first single “There Were Bells” by continuing to address the global climate emergency. Just in time for its first anniversary, Brandi Carlile is giving her most recent album In These Silent Days an update: The folk singer will re-record an acoustic version of the album song-by-song, titled In the Canyon Haze. Before it’s out on September 28th, Carlile has offered a preview with the new version of “You and Me on the Rock.” The idea for In the Canyon Haze came about when Carlile was pondering a deluxe edition of Silent Days. Rather than tacking on a few bonus tracks, she figured: Why not make the entire album a bonus? The album keeps the original’s tracklist with the exception of a cover of David Bowie’s “Space Oddity.” As for the new album’s title, Carlile cites the rootsy, bohemian spirit of the Laurel Canyon music scene. A$AP Rocky has had a lot on his plate recently, so we don’t blame him for putting music on the back burner for now. But as we wait on his long-awaited next studio album — which, allegedly, will feature a bunch of Morrissey — Rocky is holding fans over today with a preview of a new track called “OUR DE$TINY” that features Playboi Carti. The track is built off a woozy beat, psychedelic instrumentals, and sample of soulful background singers. Carti kicks things off: “I was born like this, I cannot fall,” he raps, before Rocky comes in. There’s also a video accompanying the song, which appears to compile footage of the rappers out on the road.
