Tenacious D Cover The Who for Gun Safety Benefit Single: Stream

The greatest band in the world is paying tribute to another pretty good one, and it’s all for a good cause. Jack Black and Kyle Gass have released “Tenacious D’s The Who Medley,” a new mashup of Who classics that will benefit Everytown for Gun Safety. “Tenacious D’s The Who Medley” combines The Who’s “Pinball Wizard,” “There’s A Doctor,” and “Go To The Mirror!” into a unique single of its own. In addition to hitting streaming platforms, the medley will be pressed on a 7-inch vinyl — the proceeds of which will go to the gun violence prevention organization. Pakistani Rapper Eva B Drops Banging New Track “Rozi” from Ms. Marvel: Stream

During the closing credits of the premiere episode of Disney’s new series Ms. Marvel, a scorching hip-hop track can be heard playing in the background. As it turns out, the song, titled “Rozi,” is by Eva B, who is dubbed as Pakistan’s first-ever female rapper. Entirely rapped in Urdu, the track marks Eva B’s first release on Naughty Horses Records. Gingger Shankar co-wrote and produced “Rozi,” which features both Pakistani and Indian influences. An archive series of Lou Reed’s music has been announced by Light in the Attic Records, with many of the late artist’s early demo recordings surfacing for the first time. The initial release, Words & Music, May 1965, is set to arrive on August 26th. Compiled with cooperation from Reed’s longtime partner and electronic music pioneer Laurie Anderson (who also produced Words & Music, May 1965 with Don Fleming, Jason Stern, Hal Willner, and Matt Sullivan), the newly-remastered material pulls from tapes recorded by the fledgling New York singer-songwriter prior to the official formation of The Velvet Underground. In archival notes that accompany the release, Fleming and Stern recount their discovery while browsing Reed’s offices, where they found two tapes that featured a 1958 rehearsal...

Wolfgang Van Halen is seething over Reelz’ upcoming episode of its documentary series Autopsy: The Last Hours of …, which focuses on his late father, Eddie Van Halen. The episode is set to premiere this Sunday, June 5th, and Wolfgang is urging people not to watch it while also lambasting those responsible for the show. Eddie Van Halen died in October 2020, after a long bout with cancer. The immediate cause of his passing was listed as cerebrovascular accident, which is the medical term for a stroke. Among the underlying causes were pneumonia; myelodysplastic syndrome (a bone marrow disorder); and lung cancer, which he battled for three years.
