Corey Taylor Announces Summer 2021 US Solo Tour Dates
Corey Taylor was one of the first major artists to hit the road again this year, embarking on a month-long US run that just wrapped up a few days ago. Now, the singer has added a new summer leg to his solo tour, just weeks before his band Slipknot hit the road for their fall trek. The new solo leg kicks off August 6th at the House of Blues in Las Vegas and runs through an August 19th show at Denver’s Sculpture Park. Taylor will also play a July 16th gig at Rock Fest in Cadott, Wisconsin. Taylor is touring behind his 2020 debut solo album, CMFT, which features a wide range of songs spanning from metal to alternative rock to outlaw country. Parents Suing Live Nation Over Daughter’s Lethal Drug Overdose Request Dismissal
The family of Katie Dix, a teen who died after an apparent drug overdose at the 2015 edition of the HARD Summer music festival, has requested to dismiss a lawsuit filed against Live Nation. Dix, who was 19 at the time of her death, had consumed a fatal combination of MDMA and Ethylone, a drug more commonly known as bath salts. According to Bloomberg Law, witnesses said that the festival’s security team failed to offer any aid until medical professionals arrived, which took around 20 minutes. Dix’s parents, Mark and Pamela Dix, went on to file a wrongful death lawsuit against Live Nation on the grounds that the promoter demonstrated negligence and breached their duties to protect her from the distribution and ingestion of illegal drugs. Foo Fighters to Play Forum in First 100 Percent Capacity Show in Los Angeles
Two days after reopening full-scale live music in New York City, the Foo Fighters are going to do the same thing in their home of Los Angeles. Dave Grohl and company will be performing at the Forum in Inglewood on Saturday, July 17, the first full-capacity indoor show in the area. Coincidentally, the show takes place on the same day that the band’s Bee Gees tribute album is released. If it’s anything like their tiny club show in suburban Los Angeles in Agoura Hills (about an hour or so away from the Forum without traffic) and at Madison Square Garden, it will probably be pretty eventful.
