2022 Lexus LS500h Teammate Driver-Assist-System Review: There’s No “Tesla” in Teammate

Lexus LS Full Overview Tesla was first into the breach in the U.S. with a driver assist system capable of SAE Level 2 autonomy, which is the second-from-the-bottom tier of self-driving capability as defined by the Society of Automotive Engineers. (Full or close to full self-driving gets Level 4 and 5 designations.) Autopilot handles acceleration, braking, steering, and even lane changes on its own, but only on contained roads such as freeways, and the driver must monitor things. That Tesla allowed its Autopilot-equipped vehicles even that much autonomous leeway with the meager sensor package onboard raised eyebrows—all the more so when you consider what Lexus is bringing to the table with its SAE Level 2 setup dubbed Teammate.  See all 23 photos It’s the Sensor Package, Stupid I...

John Legend Claims Designer Michael Costello Fabricated Direct Messages From Chrissy Teigen

In a blog post published to Medium on Monday, Teigen referenced the “awful” tweets and acknowledged that there is “simply no excuse” for them. She reflected on the situation, adding that “not a single moment has passed where I haven’t felt the crushing weight of regret for things I’ve said in the past.” Costello surfaced the alleged messages with Teigen soon after the blog post. In a statement attached to the DM screenshots he posted, he claimed that Teigen accused him of being a racist following a Photoshopped comment that he says was proven false by Instagram and later removed from the service, and that she and her stylist Monica Rose attempted to blacklist him from the fashion industry. “For the past 7 years, I’ve lived with a deep, unhealed trauma,” wrote Costello. The direct messages ...

Ford Bronco Sold Out for Years, Orders Pour in for F-150 Lightning and Maverick

Reservations are strong, Ford CEO Jim Farley said during the Deutsche Bank Global Auto Industry Conference. Filling them all will take some time. Below, read on about that clue and others that point to “All Too Well” being the super long Red song that Swift is teasing. The Legendary Old Scarf The scarf emoji in Swift’s recent tweet just might be a very obvious wink at a certain scarf that has taken on a life of its own to Swifties — the one left in a drawer to be immortalized in “All Too Well.” “But you keep my old scarf from that very first week ’cause it reminds you of innocence and it smells like me,” she sings. “You can’t get rid of it ’cause you remember it all too well.” The 10-Minute Track Length “All Too Well” is the first song Swift wrote for the breakup album Red, and clocking in at just about five-and-a-half minutes, it’s alrea...

Macy Gray Calls for Update of American Flag: ‘One That Represents All States and All of Us’

Addressing President Biden, vp Kamala Harris, and members of Congress, Gray wrote that the American flag “has been hijacked as code for a specific belief. God bless those believers, they can have it.” She added that, like the Confederate, the flag is “tattered, dated, divisive, and incorrect” and no longer represents all people. “It’s not fair to be forced to honor it,” wrote Gray. “It’s time for a new flag.” Of the flag’s stripes, Gray wrote how the Smithsonian documents that the white stripes represent purity and innocence. “America is great,” wrote Gray. “It is beautiful. Pure, it ain’t. It is broken and in pieces.” She posed the question: “What if the stripes were OFF-white?” Gray argued that the flag should include 52 stars, D.C. and Puerto Rico among them — which she noted have been ...

Tesla Could Have Built a Quad-Motor Model S Beyond Plaid—Here’s Why It Didn’t

Elon Musk famously named the new tri-motor, high-performance variant of the 2022 Tesla Model S the “Plaid” because like the movie Spaceballs says, it’s the only step beyond “Ludicrous,” the previous top-dog in the Model S lineup. Well what if there is a step beyond Plaid and the cancelled Plaid+? According to a source at the company, there’s no reason why Tesla couldn’t make a quad-motor Model S if it wanted to. Why Would Tesla Want to Make a Quad-Motor Model S? Two reasons primarily: more power and more traction, which could potentially improve the Model S’ launch, and actually give it a sub-2.0-second 0-60 mph time without any gimmicks. According to the below cutaway, as the Model S Plaid is currently laid out it has two motors at the rear ...
