Poor disposal of plastic wastes worry institute

The Polymer Institute of Nigeria, PIN, has expressed worry over the poor disposal of non-degradable plastic wastes in Nigeria. The Institute’s National President, Professor Paul Mamza, who disclosed this during a courtesy call on Governor Hope Uzodinma in Owerri, also said that they are developing an environmentally friendly method for disposal of plastic wastes. “The Institute is developing an environmentally friendly method for the disposal of plastic wastes. NBS: ICT sector contributes 17.83% to nation’s economy

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), on Monday released Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), report for in the second quarter of 2020 (Q2 2020), showing 17.83 per cent contribution by the Information, Communication and Technology sector. A statement signed by Dr Femi Adeluyi, Technical Assistant, Information Technology, said the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Pantami, expressed delight to hear of the growth of Information Communications Technology’s (ICT) contribution to Nigeria’s GDP. Nigerian government borrowed food from ECOWAS – ministry

Federal Minister of Power, Works and Housing The Nigerian Government has disclosed that it borrowed over 5,000 metric tonnes of grain from ECOWAS to feed citizens. This was disclosed by the Minister of State for Agriculture and Rural Development, Mustapha Baba-Shehuri, on Monday. He stated this while receiving the 3,999 tonnes of cereals donated to Nigeria by ECOWAS. A lawyer, Victor Giwa, says the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), ordered his arrest because he refused to implicate the suspended acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu.
