Motionless in White snags its third No. 1 on Billboard‘s Top Hard Rock Albums chart with Scoring the End of the World, which bows atop the June 25-dated survey. World starts with 30,000 equivalent album units earned in the June 10-16 tracking week, according to Luminate, with 23,000 from album sales. The band, which formed in Scranton, Pa., in 2005, first ruled Top Hard Rock Albums with 2014’s Reincarnate, followed by 2017’s Graveyard Shift. In between the latter and World, Disguise peaked at No. 2 in 2019. World also debuts at No. 2 on Top Rock Albums, marking Motionless in White’s second-highest rank after Reincarnate, which led the list. On the all-genre Billboard 200, World bows at No. 12, exceeded among the group’s catalog only by Reincarnate‘s No. 9 start and peak. Concurrently, six ...
Noah Weiland, the son of late Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland, has released his debut solo EP, titled Last Kiss Before Detox. The three-song effort includes his recent single, “One Day,” along with two new tracks. The last couple of years have been tumultuous for Noah, who was kicked out of the now-defunct band Suspect208, which also featured Slash’s son London Hudson on drums and Robert Trujillo’s son Tye Trujillo on bass. The other members of the group cited Noah’s “dark path of drug use” as the reason for his ouster. In an interview with iHeartRadio a couple months ago, Noah revealed that he entered rehab after parting ways with the band, but insisted that his addiction to drugs actually started after he was let go from the group. He also said, “People want to see me be a stati...

Whether you like Johnny Depp or long to drive a stake through his heart, you’re probably going to be seeing a lot more of him following his legal victory in a defamation case against his ex-wife Amber Heard. In the latest example, Depp is resurrecting The Hollywood Vampires, his supergroup with Alice Cooper, Joe Perry, and Tommy Henriksen, for a short 2023 European tour. The band was last active in 2019 when they released their sophomore album, Rise. Now, as the group wrote in an Instagram post, “The Hollywood Vampires are BACK!” The six-date trek includes five stops in Germany and one in Luxembourg, all between June 20th and 30th of next year. The Vamps expects this to be more of the beginning than the end; the announcement told fans to, “Keep an eye out for more to come…” Advertisem...
While Kate Bush is burning up the charts thanks to her gold-medal Stranger Things sync, one of the Netflix drama’s stars is gearing up to release new music under his Djo stage name. Joe Keery, better known as shaggy-haired monster hunter Steve Harrington, will drop his second solo album, DECIDE, on Sept. 16. He gave a sneak peek at the follow-up to his 2019 solo debut, TWENTY TWENTY, this week with the release of the hazy, Tame Impala-like pop funk jam “Change.” Keery — one of several Stranger cast members who also dabbles in music — was part of the Chicago band Post Animal before breaking out on his own with TWENTY TWENTY. The 30-year-old actor who’s been making music since his teens worked on DECIDE during the pandemic with engineer/musician Adam Thein (Temporex, Post Animal) and recorde...
Go ahead: Google “Beatles are irrelevant” and “Rolling Stones are irrelevant.” The former will net you about half a million results — the latter, a hair under two million. Now, Google “Elvis is irrelevant.” You’ll get more than twice the results of both those queries — combined. At first thought, this is understandable. The Stones remain a titanic concert draw despite losing a key member. The Beatles’ Get Back didn’t just lift us out of Turkey Day doldrums; it bestowed on us a rare case of almost universal common ground. Recent deluxe editions of both beloved bands’ classic albums do gangbusters on Spotify. Speaking of: at press time, the Beatles command 26 million monthly listeners; the Stones, 21 mil. Elvis Presley? A paltry 13. Granted, there are many potential reasons for the above — a...

The Piano Man will be tinkling the ivories in Australia later this year, for one night only. The imposing Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) will host Billy Joel on Dec. 10, for what’s being described by Frontier Touring as a “history-making performance.” The concert, Joel’s first in Melbourne in 14 years, is presented by Frontier in partnership with Always Live, a state-wide live music project initiated by the concert promoter’s late chief Michael Gudinski. Always Live was created with the ambition to restart Victoria’s legendary live scene, and quash the memory of those months-long lockdowns, with support by the state government through Visit Victoria.
