Eddie Vedder Unveils New Album Earthling: Stream

Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder has unleashed his long-awaited new solo album, Earthling. Listen to the project below. Earthling marks Vedder’s first solo project since 2011’s Ukulele Songs. With a star-studded backing band featuring Chad Smith and Josh Klinghoffer, and guest appearances from Ringo Starr, Stevie Wonder, and Elton John, the LP moves beyond the angsty grunge that made the artist famous over three decades ago. Instead, Vedder dabbles in bluegrass, Americana, and straight-ahead rock, “a trial-and-error soundtrack to one man’s maturation,” as we put it in our review of the album. It features the previously released singles “Long Way,” “The Haves,”  and “Brother the Cloud.”  Advertisement Related Video Last week, Vedder kicked off his “Earthlings” t...

Foo Fighters Get Some Fraggle-Sized Help in Music Video for “Fraggle Rock Rock”: Watch

Foo Fighters have lots of respect for the great artists who have come before, whether that’s Bee Gees, Van Halen, or the Fraggles. That’s right, Dave Grohl and friends perform alongside their esteemed muppet peers in the new music video for “Fraggle Rock Rock.” The Foos unveiled the song last month to coincide with the debut of Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock on Apple TV+. The video finds them sharing the stage — or trying to, at any rate, because some of these Fraggles aren’t very good at ceding the spotlight. Occasional tussle aside, everyone seems to be having fun, as you can see in the video below. Foo Fighters aren’t the only humans who will be venturing to Fraggle Rock. During the 13-episode run, Patti LaBelle performs  “Shine on Us Now (Moon Come Soon),” ...

Billie Joe Armstrong’s Stolen Car Is Recovered: ‘It’s All In One Piece’

Billie Joe Armstrong is back in possession of his precious car. Over the weekend, the Green Day frontman appealed for the return of his stolen ‘62 Chevy Nova, which has been in the family for decades. “This car is near and dear to all our hearts and has been in the GD family for over 30 years,” he shared on Instagram Saturday (Feb. 5). The post featured multiple photos of the classic Chevrolet emblazoned with the word “STOLEN!” in bright red letters over top of it. His pleas didn’t go unnoticed. The vehicle was reportedly recovered by Sherriff’s deputies on Tuesday, near the city of Orange in Orange County, and it’s apparently in good condition.  “False alarm.. turns out I forgot where I parked it… KIDDING! Truth is the person that stole it left it parked. Joy ride? Maybe.. ...

Eddie Vedder Heats up Feud With Motley Crue With Drumkit Diss

The war of words between Eddie Vedder and Nikki Sixx has exploded once again, with the Pearl Jam frontman throwing more shade at the bass player, Mötley Crüe and, specifically, the band’s rotating drum kit. Rock ‘n’ roll’s latest bizarre feud was sparked when Vedder opened up to the New York Times Sunday magazine about his hatred for the ‘80s hair metal scene. One of the biggest names to squeeze into spandex was, of course, Mötley Crüe. And Vedder despised all of it.   “‘Girls, Girls, Girls’ and Mötley Crüe: [expletive] you. I hated it. I hated how it made the fellas look. I hated how it made the women look. It felt so vacuous,” he told the Times‘ David Marchese for the mag’s “Talk” feature. Neil Young Encourages Spotify Employees to Quit and Save Their Souls

Neil Young’s war against Spotify rages on for a third week: In a new letter posted to his website, Young not only encouraged musicians to leave the platform, he also advised Spotify’s employees leave the company “before it eats up your soul.” Young’s latest swipe at Spotify came at the end of a longer letter about misinformation and corporate greed. He noted that just 5% of America’s financial assets are in the hands of millennials (as compared to 70% held by baby boomers). He also argued for a boycott of banks like Chase, Citi, and Bank of America, which contribute financially to “the mass fossil fuel destruction of Earth.” Regarding Spotify, Young advised his fellow creators to “find a better place… to be the home of your art.” So far, artists including Joni Mitchell, David Crosby, Steve...

Foo Fighters’ World Domination Expands to Metaverse with Super Bowl Sunday VR Concert

Join us when we cross that one off the FF bucket list!” Foo Fi...

Andy Shauf Shares New Songs “Satan” and “Jacob Rose”: Stream

Andy Shauf is continuing his hot streak today with two new songs, “Satan” and “Jacob Rose.” As per usual for the Toronto singer-songwriter, both songs are centered around his knack for poignant storytelling over pleasant melodies. While “Satan” is a subtly gorgeous acoustic number, its origins are much darker, inspired by Shauf’s upbringing in a strict evangelical household where he wasn’t allowed to participate in Halloween festivities. “The Christianity that I was brought up in said that believers went to heaven and non-believers went to hell,” Shauf said in a statement. “A sort of cartoon-like simplification of ancient texts. So with the lyrics of [“Satan”], I was trying to take this cartoon-like simplification of life (and death) and pair it with a cartoon-like version of this Christia...
