Draymond Green will be taking a leave of absence from the Golden State Warriors following his altercation with Jordan Poole during practice last week. The decision for Green to take a step back was “mutual,” according to coach Steve Kerr, who also confirmed that they currently do not have a set date for the power forward’s return — possibly meaning that he will miss the Warriors’ opening game on October 18. Green announced in a press conference that he will be using this time away to work on his emotional responses, as well as give Poole and the team some space to heal in order for the Warriors to focus on defending their title. While the power forward admits that the process will not be an easy one, he said that he will “look forward to continuing to better myself and my emotion...
CARICOM is an independent and U.K.-based publication that delves into the intersection between football and Black culture. Launched back in 2017, the small team behind the magic wanted to tell the underrepresented stories of Black fans, footballers, and others in the game. Now, following up on its second edition of the magazine that featured an interview with ex-Chelsea striker Solomon Kalou about the best Caribbean players to appear in the Premier League, CARICOM has just presented its newest edition, which is aptly dubbed “The Island.” This latest offering explores the current times of Black people’s very existence being increasingly defined by their experiences — and endless discussions — of racism. “The Island” represents the notion of not playing by those rules and therefore...

The Golden State Warriors will be internally dealing with any possible disciplinary actions against Draymond Green and Jordan Poole after the two got into a heated altercation during practice earlier this week. The team’s general manager Bob Myers revealed that Green had already personally apologized to the franchise and will most likely not miss any games as a consequence. He also confirmed that “[e]verybody’s fine,” and that the PF was not in practice today but will return for Saturday’s. “Look, it’s the NBA, it’s professional sports, these things happen. Although he did not fully explain why the incident took place, the GM was told that it was “normal bickering” and doesn’t believe the ongoing contract extension issues ...

While the partnership is certainly unexpected, considering Villaseñor hails from Los Angeles, Coyotes Chief Brand Officer, Alex Meruelo ...
