Footballers Wearing Body Cameras and Microphones Could Be the Future of Football

During a pre-season friendly between A.C. Milan and 1 F.C. Köln, some players had mics and a GoPro-like body camera attached to their bodies, giving viewers an in-depth perception of what actually goes on during games. The footage from the body cameras gives a similar result to what you would see on the First Person camera angle on FIFA. Getting players to wear body cameras during matches has not been done before in a professional football match. However, on YouTube, there are several channels featuring players recording themselves playing football with a body camera — a notable semi-pro player from South Korea called JFootballTV records himself playing in different positions and the style of various football players in first-person view. During the pandemic’s early stages, fans could not ...

Cameron Smith Claims First-Ever Major at 150th Open Championship

Australian golfer Cameron Smith came back from a four stroke deficit on Sunday afternoon in Scotland to win his first ever major championship at historic St Andrews. Along with the iconic Claret Jug trophy, the win cut Cameron Smith a $2.5 million USD check, and elevated him four spots in the Official World Golf Ranking to second behind Scottie Scheffler. Starting the final round four shots behind Rory McIlroy and Viktor Hovland, the 28 year old Smith went out in 34 and remained three behind McIlroy halfway through his round. It was on the 10th hole that the Aussie found his groove, stringing together five straight birdies to overtake McIlroy.  On the notoriously difficult 17th (nicknamed the Road Hole), the new leader found himself in an impossible spot in front of the green, bu...

Charles Oliveira Crowned 2022 ESPYS Fighter of the Year

At 32 years of age, Brazilian fighter Charles “Do Bronxs” Oliveira has been named the 2022 ESPYS Fighter of the Year. After what was said to be a close race between fellow UFC fighters Kamaru Usman, Alexander Volkanovski, and Kayla Harrison, Oliveira claims the coveted award, succeeding the now-retired Khabib Nurmagomedov who was chosen for 2021. Do Bronxs holds a record of 33-8 with one no-contest and is currently running hot with an 11-fight win streak. He most recently triumphed over Justin Gaethje in the first round via submission for UFC 273 but was stripped of his belt due to missing weight by 0.5 pounds. Shortly after being picked as the winner of the ESPYS award, the UFC announced Oliveira will be facing off against Islam Makhachev this October in Abu Dhabi for UFC 280. The highly-...

Controversial F1 Halo Safety System Saved Zhou Guanyu’s Life

Chinese driver Zhou Guanyu praised Formula One’s halo head protection system as it saved the driver after being involved in an opening lap accident during the F1 Grand Prix of Great Britain. Zhou’s car is seen flying upside down across the Silverstone track before being wedged between the tire and barrier and catch fencing. Mercedes driver George Russell, who collided with Zhou, instantly got out of his car during the Red Flag to check up on the Chinese driver. Russell called it “one of the scariest crashes I’ve ever seen.” Russell further added that F1 could learn from the crash, “It was horrible, in that position he was stuck there, (there was) nothing he could have done. The space between the barriers and the metal fence, and he was just stuck in there, nowhere to go. Yeah, something to...
