The 2021-22 NBA season was a massive disappointment to fans of the Brooklyn Nets franchise, especially after the teamw as eliminated in a 4-0 sweep in the first round of the playoffs. While there were many reasons why the Nets were not at their bests entering the playoffs, Kyrie Irving‘s long-term status with the team has recently come into question. Earlier this year, Irving declined his $36.9 million USD option to become an unrestricted free agent. On multiple occasions, Irving has stated he wants to stay in Brooklyn. However, it looks as if the Nets may not feel the same way about offering Irving a long-term deal. New York Daily News reports, “…The Nets’ championship hopes hinge on an amicable solution with Irving, whose personal decision not to get vaccinated and unpredictable injury h...
NFL‘s long-rumored paid streaming service NFL+, may just be arriving as soon as this July. Colin Kaepernick hasn’t played a snap in the NFL since he began kneeling to protest racial injustice in the 2016 season. Neither has he been brought in for a workout by any of the 32 clubs in that span, despite his relative success. This week, the Las Vegas Raiders will change that as they host the former dual-threat quarterback for his first workout since being exiled. Having played at the University of Nevada, Reno, Kaepernick, 34, returns to the state of his alma mater to prove that he still has top-tier football left in him. In an episode of the I AM ATHLETE podcast, the former San Francisco 49er said: “You have ‘End Racism’ in the back of your end zone. You have ‘Black Lives Matter’ on your helmet. Everything I’ve said should be in alignment with what you’re saying publicly…It’s a $16...

Ahead of the 2021/22 Champions League final in Paris, adidas has unveiled the official match ball for the game. The design of the ball is deliberately pared back, with the white panels and silver stars framing a message for peace with the Cyrillic word “мир” — which can be translated as peace — sitting above the word “PEACE.” This design is a response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine earlier this year, and carries extra weight as the Russian city of St. Petersburg was the original host city for the Champions League final. Additionally, the ball represents a message of “peace, belonging, and hope” that will be passed from player to player during the match. Additionally, the ball will not be available for retail, although it will be auctioned immedately after the match, with proceeds being do...

Arsenal’s 2021/22 season has been a story of highs and lows. On one hand, the team has picked up impressive results – back to back wins against Chelsea and Manchester United in April were a highlight – and is guaranteed to improve on the previous season’s 8th place finish. In the other column, however, are some less successful results, and the possibility of missing out on Champions League football. One consistent positive of the season has been the development of a core of young and exciting players. The squad’s star players this season include 20 year olds Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli and 21 year old Emile Smith Rowe, while the club’s goalkeeper and vice captain – Aaron Ramsdale and Kieran Tierney – are both only 24. “This is what you want as a young player,” explains Smith Rowe, s...
