Netflix has unveiled the teaser trailer of its upcoming documentary series, UNTOLD Vol 1: Malice at the Palace, which takes a deep dive into the infamous brawl between the Indiana Pacers and Detroit Pistons in 2004. For the first time ever, fans will be given access to never-before-seen footage of that fateful November 2004 night and the firsthand accounts of Metta World Peace, Stephen Jackson, Jermaine O’Neal and Reggie Miller: “November 19, 2004, is a moment the NBA would rather soon forget, but for the players, coaches, referees, and fans who lived through it, it’s simply a night they can’t shake from their memory or their reputation. It was an early season game, but for the perennially losing Indiana Pacers, there was no better place to stamp their newfound dominance than against the d...
FIFA has requested that the Uruguay football team remove two of the four World Cup stars on its jersey. Puma revealed on Tuesday after submitting kit designs for Uruguay that FIFA had asked for the removal of two of the four stars above Uruguay’s team crest by the next World Cup in 2022 because the national team has only ever won two World Cups. Obviously unhappy with the request, the Uruguay Football Association (AUF) argues that the other two stars represent their Olympic victories in 1924 and 1928, which were both hosted by FIFA itself, and they were officially considered world championships. “FIFA has always recognized, even publicly, that Uruguay has four World Cups because in 1924 and 1928 it [the Olympic football tournament] was organized by FIFA and it’s in 1930 when they decided t...
LeBron James has heard all the negative chatter surrounding the latest Los Angeles Lakers roster for the 2021-22 NBA season and he has taken it upon himself to let the critics know that he is not phased. The Lakers’ roster has caused quite a ruckus throughout the NBA when the franchise acquired Russell Westbrook in a blockbuster trade that sent Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Montrezl Harrell to the Washington Wizards. The Los Angeles Times recently reported that Westbrook had spoken to King James and Anthony Davis a week prior to the trade with all three players discussing that they are willing to put aside their egos to bring another ring to LA. The Lakers roster is arguably stacked with NBA veterans, signing Carmelo Anthony, Kent Bazemore, Wayne Ellington, Dwight Howard and Tre...
After securing a bronze medal in the 100-metre final earlier in the week, Canadian sprinter Andre de Grasse has finally bagged himself gold by winning the men’s 200-metre final in impressive fashion at the Tokyo Olympics. The 26-year-old — who claimed silver in the 2016 Rio Olympics behind Usain Bolt — clocked a Canadian record finishing in 19.62 seconds, ahead of Kenny Bednarek and Noah Lyles of the United States who finished second and third respectively. Erriyon Knighton, who crushed Bolt’s under-18 and under-20 200-metre records at the Olympic Team Trials earlier this year, became the youngest male to ever compete in a 200-metre final at just 17-years-old, coming through in fourth place in 19.93 seconds. De Grasse’s victory ends a decade of 200-metre dominance from the now-retired Bolt...
The Chicago Bulls have landed veteran NBA forward, DeMar DeRozan for the Windy City. The agreement was an unprecedented move, surprising many with the decision. DeRozan spent the last three seasons as a key player for the San Antonio Spurs but appears that the player is ready to take his talents to join a younger team and potential championship contender. DeRozan originally appeared to be making the big move to Los Angeles, but the Chicago Bulls have made a last-second move to snatch up the player who will now be joining Lonzo Ball, Alex Caruso, Zack Lavine and Nikola Vucevic. The Athletic reports that the Chicago Bulls have finalized a sign-and-trade deal with the San Antonio Spurs which saw them acquire DeRozan for Thaddeus Young. The deal sees DeRozan sign a 3-year $85 million USD deal,...
Sydney McLaughlin has just won her first gold medal in the women’s 400-meter hurdles at the Tokyo Olympics whilst also setting a new world record at the event. The athlete finished in 51.46 seconds in a marginally close victory over her Team USA teammate Dalila Muhammad. Both competitors came out of the race with considerable feats, both breaking McLaughlin’s old record of 51.9 seconds. Muhammad finished in 51.58 seconds, taking the silver medal. Netherland’s Femke Bol finished in third place. Though an amazing feat, the records were not a surprise as both McLaughlin and Muhammad have traded records and wins for the past two years. Muhammad first broke the record at the 2019 U.S. Nationals and then again at the Doha championships. Later at the Olympic trials this summer, McLaughlin broke t...

Stephen Curry has agreed to a whopping four-year $215 Million USD contract extension with the Golden State Warriors. The three-point assassin is now the first-ever NBA player to sign two $200 million-plus deals in his career, and he now holds the top spot for having the highest annual salary in the league’s history. There’s no question that Curry is still in the middle of his prime and the MVP-caliber numbers that he was racking up last season is a clear indication of that. Despite losing plenty of fire power on his Warriors squad throughout the regular season due to injuries, the sharpshooter made a strong statement by averaging 32 points, five assists and five rebounds a night. This contract extension solidifies his place with the San Francisco-based franchise for the next four years whe...
The Los Angeles Lakers are on a mission to put themselves in the best possible position to add title number 18 to their trophy case. As if signing Russell Westbrook and bringing back Dwight Howard, Trevor Ariza, and Kent Bazemore wasn’t already a lot to absorb, the SoCal franchise is now welcoming 19-year veteran Carmelo Anthony to the squad. Per his manager Bay Frazier, Melo and the Lakers have agreed to a one-year deal. While Anthony isn’t necessarily the scoring machine he once was when he was a member of the Denver Nuggets or the New York Knicks, he certainly still give the Lakers bench some much needed depth. Last season with the Portland Trailblazers, the 10-time All-Star averaged just over 13 points a game and shot over 40% from beyond the arc, so there’s no question that he can sti...
Lonzo Ball is headed up north to the Chicago Bulls through a sign-and-trade deal with the New Orleans Pelicans, as per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. With a four-year deal worth $85 million USD, Ball will be traded off for Tomas Satoransky, Garrett Temple and a second-round pick, according to The Athletic and Stadium’s Shams Charania. This will be his third team in five seasons in the NBA. The 23-year-old guard was the No. 2 overall draft pick in 2017 as he kicked off his career with his hometown Los Angeles Lakers team for two seasons. He was then part of a trade deal for the Lakers to acquire Anthony Davis once LeBron James came into play. Afterwhich, he played for the Pelicans for the past two years and continued to bring up his 3-point shooting percentage. Coming from connecting 31.5 perce...
After leading the Phoenix Suns to the NBA finals post-Western Conference Finals win, Chris Paul has agreed to a four-year, $120 million USD contract to return to the Valley. The 36-year-old NBA veteran surprised many with the enormous and unprecedented contract. Though that was the case, many thought that the 11-time All-Star resigning with the Suns is virtually a no-brainer. In his first season with Phoenix, CP3 averaged 16.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 8.9 assists per game. Throughout the regular season, he was able to finish fifth in MVP voting. The Suns new contract to keep CP3 is arguably a huge risk for the franchise as he is over 35 and has a long history of injuries. Reports have also indicated that CP3 recently went through wrist surgery for his injury, but is expected to be ready fo...
