Source: Bernard Smalls/ @PhotosByBeanz After Megan Thee Stallion confirmed what we all basically knew that a certain miniature Canadian singer was the one who shot her, many called for Tory Lanez to speak up about the incident. While there weren’t many, there were quite a few Black men in the Hip-Hop industry who called out Lanez while standing up for Thee Stallion. Names like Bun B, J.R. Smith were very vocal on social media and didn’t mince words when pointing out how wack Lanez was for shooting Megan. Atlanta rapper and self-proclaimed “King of The South” T.I. was another rapper who wanted the “Say It” crafter to explain himself expeditiously. In a recent interview with Complex, Tip revealed he did have a conversation with Lanez, and he shared the product of that discussion between the ...
Source: Ethan Miller / Getty The Feds have their eye on a cryptocurrency scheme that T.I. got inadvertently wrapped up in, allegedly. The Atlanta rapper has been fined $75,000 for his involvement. Reuters reports that on Friday (Sept. 11), T.I., born Clifford Harris, agreed to pay $75,000 to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to settle charges that he broke securities laws by selling fraudulent crypto-currency investments. The “You Don’t Know Me” rapper and four associates who were involved in companies called FLiK and CoinSpark, which offered up cryptocurrency that Tip promoted. According to the SEC, back in 2017, T.I. was pushing “FLiK tokens” on his social media accounts while claiming he was FLiK co-owner—when he actually was not. Per the settlement, T.I. didn’t confirm nor d...
Source: Bernard Smalls / @PhotosByBeanz Even though T.I. and 50 Cent were not seeing eye to eye on their discographies the two will indeed be paired in a different capacity. Source: Manny Hernandez / Getty When Andre 3000 said “the South has something to say” it would be prophetic in so many ways. T.I. is campaigning hard for all the talent from below the Mason Dixie line. As spotted on HipHopDX the “Swagger Like Us” rapper is being very vocal to what he perceives is unfair advantage East Coast rappers have over the rest of the map. Last week he called up Kevin Hart to negotiate a Verzuz between he and 50 Cent. Unfortunately, Curtis did not feel he was on his level and went on to quickly deny the challenge. Since the dismissal, Tip has voiced his concern about how New York rappers get precedence when it comes to how their legacies are ranked. In a recent interview with HOT 97, he detailed his frustrations with Ebro Darden and Peter Rosenberg. “N...

Source: Bernard Smalls for iOne Digital / Bernard Smalls iOne Digital While America’s attention is rightfully focused on police brutality at the moment, one MC has not forgotten about Donald Trump’s thievery. As expected the King of the South has put him in his place. As reported earlier this week the Trump administration got their petty on with a goal of slighting de facto Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden. The tactic repurposed T.I.’s hit song “Whatever You Like” to “I don’t want Joe Biden / don’t need Joe Biden”. Naturally, the clip landed on Tip’s desk and he made it clear that the POTUS violated both his artistic integrity and legal rights. The “Trap Back Jumpin” rapper’s team released a formal statement detailing his harsh opposition to the track being used by the liar in chi...
Source: Freddy O / Radio One Digital Atlanta rappers are stepping up in a big way during this pandemic despite Georgia being the first state to partially re-open. T.I. and Killer Mike teamed up with non-profit PAWkids to serve 500 hot meals and needed household supplies to their most vulnerable neighbors affected by the city’s COVID-19 shutdown. Setting up in the parking lot of Bankhead Seafood, the ATL rap icons stood mask and gloved up with PAWkids volunteers to hand out brown bags and household items to residents of Atlanta’s Grove Park community that raised Killer Mike. “In any crisis, Black people confront dual challenges. We deal with the challenge of racism, and we deal with the crisis itself. COVID-19 is no exception. What we saw today was an overwhelming sense of need, but also a ...
