Tom DeLonge’s Sekret Machines Book Series Being Adapted for Television
Sekret Machines, rocker Tom DeLonge’s fictional UFO book series based on actual events, is being adapted for television by Legendary Entertainment and producer Dan Farah (Ready Player One). The co-founder of Blink-182 has recently been making a name for himself as a UFOlogist, and in 2020 his findings prompted the Pentagon to confirm that videos of UFOs exist. Sekret Machines: Chasing Shadows comes from earlier in his research in 2016, and was co-written with A.J. Hartley. Chasing Shadows follows the intersecting stories of Timika, a skeptical UFO journalist; Jerzy, a WWII prisoner of war; Jennifer, a British heiress; and Alan, a pilot involved with Area 51. During the closing credits of the premiere episode of Disney’s new series Ms. Marvel, a scorching hip-hop track can be heard playing in the background. As it turns out, the song, titled “Rozi,” is by Eva B, who is dubbed as Pakistan’s first-ever female rapper. Entirely rapped in Urdu, the track marks Eva B’s first release on Naughty Horses Records. Carol Burnett hasn’t been a series regular since The Carol Burnett Show went off air in 1978, but that’s about to change with her starring role in the Apple TV+ comedy series Mrs. American Pie. Per The Hollywood Reporter, the legendary comedian will star as Norma, the grande dame of the Palm Beach high society in which Kristen Wiig’s Maxine Simmons is trying to get a seat at the table. Set in the early 1970s, the series is based on Juliet McDaniel’s novel of the same name.
