When we last saw the Jersey Shore family, Angelina hoped “things would get better” within her own mini clan (aka her marriage to Chris) after the Poconos vacation. So have relations improved in the Pivarnick/Larangeira household? In a sneak peek from the season premiere, Angelina visits Jenni and brings some new paperwork. And it isn’t exactly an encouraging set of documents. “What is this doing for you?” Jenni asks about Angelina’s marriage settlement agreement (MSA). “Because this, to me, is a divorce. And you’re saying you don’t know. What about him makes you stay? I need five things.” Angelina takes a second and then gives with her top answer: “He’s good to the animals.” The “fur babies”! What is ...
Home Improvement star Richard Karn has been working on himself. Just two days after he announced a new line of NFTs — that’s non-fungible tokens, the latest environment-killing crypto craze — he did an abrupt about-face, and declared that these tokens can get the fung out of here. On January 2nd, the actor teased an “Exclusive NFT Drop” with crypto company Superfandom. Rather than the typical badly-drawn apes, these options included a phone call with Karn, a golf session with Karn, or even hiring him to be in your own movie. Two days later, however, he backtracked, tweeting, “I’ve thought long and hard about NFT’s and I’ve decided it’s not something I need to do.” The original NFT announcement tweet has since been deleted. Karn didn’t explain why he suddenly backed out of the dea...
Tensions between Elmo and Rocco the Rock have reached unprecedented levels. After old clips of the bitter rivals blew up on Twitter earlier this week, that Little Red Menace is reigniting the drama. For the uninitiated, Rocco is Zoe’s pet rock. Zoe and Rocco are best friends — so much so that she brings Rocco everywhere, and expects everyone to just play along with her one-sided friendship. But Elmo won’t have it. Ever since 1999, when Rocco first appeared on Sesame Street, Elmo’s been the only one to realize that he is, in fact, a rock, and not a person. The gaslighting that ensues is despicable. “Rocks can’t play! Rocco didn’t even move!,” Elmo insists in one clip, when Zoe tries to force Rocco’s way into the Elmo-Gabi-Zoe friend group. “Sure he did! You were just too busy...
Today, the internet can feel like a sex distribution mechanism that is only occasionally interrupted by selfies and memes. But that wasn’t always the case, as director Craig Gillespie (I, Tonya) makes clear in the new trailer for Pam & Tommy. Starring Sebastian Stan as Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee and Lily James as a dead ringer for Baywatch‘s Pamela Anderson, Pam & Tommy dramatizes the sex-tape theft that proved how incorrigibly horny everyone is, as well as what happens when two real people get caught in the crossfire. The tale begins in 1995, when a disgruntled contractor named Rand Gauthier (Seth Rogen, also executive producing) broke into a safe and discovered the tape. Along with Milltie (Nick Offerman), he decided to try and make some money. “...
It’s time for the teen moms to “come together” for one epic family reunion. Teen Mom: Family Reunion, premiering January 11, will feature the young women colliding for “the mother of all vacations.” And in the sneak peek below, Maci — who has traveled with her TMOG cast members before — is opening up like never before to her fellow cohorts. “I am not enough!” Maci yells, as the women work with a life coach. When the mother of three is asked what her statement meant, Maci wipes away tears and responds that she has been “chasing acceptance” her whole life. How does the life coach push Maci to share more, and how does she react? Watch the entire clip, and do not miss Teen Mom: Family Reunion debuting on Tuesday, January 11 at 8...
Betty White’s hometown of Oak Park, Illinois has declared that her birthday, January 17th, will now be known as “Betty White Day,” TMZ reports. The legendary television actress, best known for starring in the iconic sitcoms The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Golden Girls, passed away on December 31st, just shy of her 100th birthday. Vicki Scaman, president of the Village of Oak Park, told TMZ that while White moved to California at a young age, the Illinois city would celebrate the television icon on her birthday from here on out, citing her continued high praise of the village. Beyond a public memorial and proclamation reading, Oak Park businesses plan to celebrate “Betty White Day” with various discounts and “Betty White specials.” Hot dog joint Mickey’s Drive-In will offer White’s...
Bad news for those hoping to catch Late Night with Seth Meyers this week: Its titular host announced today (January 4th) that he had tested positive for COVID-19, and was therefore canceling the week’s remaining scheduled episodes. “The bad news is, I tested positive for COVID (thanks, 2022!),” Meyers wrote on Twitter. “The good news is, I feel fine (thanks vaccines and booster!) We are canceling the rest of the shows this week, so tune in next Monday to see what cool location we will try and pass off as a studio!!!” New York City has been hit especially hard with the Omicron variant of the coronavirus. Numerous live music events have been canceled in precaution, and late-night hosts are certainly not exempt: Just yesterday, Jimmy Fallon announced that he had tested positive on t...
A leopard may never change its spots, but a Challenge standout certainly can — just look at this season of All Stars for crystal-clear evidence. On the show’s most recent episode, MJ and Jonna — who’ve settled on a sweet spot between brains and brawn — proved they had the potential to win the whole shebang after a victory in “Dive & Conquer,” which challenged players to complete a memory puzzle (a task punctuated by many one-mile runs and dives into a cenote). Sadly, the news wasn’t as good for Jasmine and Laterrian. After a few weeks of hovering toward the bottom of the pack, they finally fell in The Arena to Melinda and Nehemiah, who effectively earned the very first cemented spot in the final race with a victory in “Like Clockwork.” “This is my first time making the final!” Melinda ...
Keanu Reeves is set to start in an episodic adaptation of Erik Larson’s best-selling crime story, The Devil in the White City, according to Deadline. Leonardo DiCaprio, who acquired the rights to the book in 2010, will produce the project for Hulu with his longtime collaborator Martin Scorsese. Originally released in 2003, The Devil in the White City tells the true story of Daniel H. Burnham, the architect behind the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair, and Dr. H. H. Holmes, the serial killer who used the fair to lure his victims. When DiCaprio first acquired the rights to the book, it was thought he would star in a feature-length film directed by Scorsese. However, in 2019 DiCaprio and Scorsese struck a deal with Hulu to reimagine the project as a limited series. At the time, the deal was said to b...
The Pitch: If you watched The Suicide Squad last year and got told that one of the characters would be getting a spinoff TV show, would Peacemaker (John Cena) have been your first guess? Even with the post-credits scene setting up the series, probably not. Nonetheless, James Gunn‘s first major TV project takes this blunt instrument of an anti-hero and uses him as the base for an at times strange, at times pretty fun action-horror adventure. (The term “superhero”… does not feel particularly applicable, in this case.) “Previously, in The Suicide Squad…” That’s not a bit — that’s literally how the first episode of Peacemaker opens, treating the film like the true pilot episode of the series. (Which, it could be argued, it was.) What’s important to remember from that movie, if August 2021 is u...
The Pitch: In terms of literary adaptations, Around the World in 80 Days hits right in the sweet spot established by decades of Masterpiece programming in general and the BBC adaptation of Sherlock in particular. But there’s one huge exception to this: Unlike Sherlock, which is a series that worships the concept of genius, 80 Days features a protagonist who’s far more often in over his head. Set in 1872 (the same year that the original Jules Verne novel was published), 80 Days is an adventure inspired by a bet: specifically, the bet made by eccentric gentleman Phileas Fogg (David Tennant) that he can circumnavigate the globe in the time period allotted. Eighty days might sound like a lot of time, but when one’s primary means of transportation are ship, train, or camel, it’s a frightfully s...
