Disney+ has ordered a limited sequel series to Tim Allen’s Santa Clause film trilogy. Allen himself will reprise his role as Scott Calvin in the forthcoming project, which is slated to go into production this spring. In the series, Allen’s Scott Calvin “is on the brink of his 65th birthday and realizing that he can’t be Santa forever,” reads the official logline. “He’s starting to lose a step in his Santa duties, and more importantly, he’s got a family who could benefit from a life in the normal world, especially his two kids who have grown up at the pole.” “With a lot of elves, children, and family to please, Scott sets out to find a suitable replacement Santa while preparing his family for a new adventure in a life south of the pole.” Advertisement Related Video Jack Burditt (30 Rock, Mo...
After months of time spent apart, (most of) the Jersey Shore crew found themselves back under one roof for a good ol’ fashioned family dinner. But the bruschetta bread had barely been served before “the disrespect” started flying. Though Snooki and Vinny were absent, the rest of the roommates’ long-awaited gathering seemed somewhat apropos for Family Vacation‘s 100th episode (seems only yesterday that Angelina was sharting in Miami) — even the significant others were present. There was DJ Pauly D and his girlfriend Nikki, JWOWW and her fiancé Zack, parents-of-two Deena and Chris, and Mom and Dad Mike and Lauren, who were ready for their first “big night out” since having baby Romeo. And perhaps most surprisingly, ther...
This isn’t your mother’s murder mystery. Today, Netflix has announced Murderville, a six-episode comedy series starring Will Arnett as Terry Seattle, a senior homicide detective who enlists the help of some celebrity guests. The catch? The guest stars don’t have a script. Based on the BBC series Murder in Successville, the show will feature Annie Murphy (Schitt’s Creek), Conan O’Brien, Ken Jeong, Kumail Nanjiani, Marshawn Lynch (of NFL fame), and Sharon Stone. With virtually no preparation beforehand, these stars will have to rely solely on their improvisation skills (and perhaps some tips from their favorite true crime podcasts) to make their way through the episode and solve the week’s crime. Sometimes, the guests get lucky in figuring out the twisted whodunit — other times, not so much....
Trends and cliques may come and go, but nothing endures like the allure of high school drama. HBO Max announced today that a reboot of Degrassi — the long-running Canadian teen drama series — is in the works. To keep you satiated until its 2023 premiere, the streaming platform has also picked up the US rights for all 14 seasons of Degrassi: The Next Generation. Like its predecessor, the new Degrassi will focus on a set of Toronto high school students on their own paths toward self-discovery. Its 10 episodes will take a deep dive into the ensemble cast, who live “in the shadow of events that both bind them together and tear them apart.” Degrassi will be helmed by showrunners Lara Azzopardi (Backstage, The Bold Type, Mary Kills People) and Julia Cohen (Riverdale, A Millio...
“Oh yeah,” there is nothing “awkward!” about this milestone: Jersey Shore: Family Vacation is about to commemorate 100 episodes. The “party’s here” in Seacucus?! The series’ first installment debuted on April 5, 2018 — and over the course of 98 episodes and five seasons, viewers have watched all of the highs (like engagements, weddings and babies) and lows (divorce, heated disagreements and going to jail) that comes with being a part of a truly unique family. So which JSFV moments stand out as favorites for the beloved roomies? “I feel like stuff with our kids,” Snooki states in the clip above, as she sits with fellow mamas JWOWW and Deena. Like flower girls Meilani and Giovanna at Mike and Lauren’s nuptials, as well a...
The Pitch: Somewhere in the vast wide multiverse, there is a planet Earth where, in the year 2022, the How I Met Your Mother spin-off series How I Met Your Dad is just now reaching its eighth season, with star Greta Gerwig thinking longingly about the indie film about growing up in Sacramento that she always wished she’d have a chance to direct. That planet Earth is not our planet Earth, where, in the year 2022, How I Met Your Dad ended as a 2014 CBS pilot that never made it to series, Greta Gerwig’s 2018 film Lady Bird received five Oscar nominations, and Hilary Duff is now starring in How I Met Your Father, a spiritual and literal sequel to the long-running CBS sitcom about the world’s most long-winded parent giving his kids way too much information about his past dating life. Does Sophi...
Teen Moms Amber, Catelynn, Cheyenne and Maci are having girls night in every week. The at-home activity: reacting to unforgettable Teen Mom 2 moments because, after all, they can relate to the joys and struggles that come with being young parents. In a sneak peek of Teen Mom: Girls’ Night In, premiering tonight right after the debut of Teen Mom: Family Reunion, the MTV mamas and some familiar faces (plus plenty of late-night snacks) are reliving Ashley’s first scene on TM2 after appearing on Young and Pregnant. “Their daughter is the perfect mixture of them,” Maci comments about Ashley and Bar’s little girl Holly. “Every time I look at her, I’m like, ‘I see Bar; I see Ashley.'” Bar’s face tattoos are the next topic of conversation...

It looks like the Oscars may not let Tom Holland host this year’s ceremony. Instead, according to Page Six, the Academy is eyeing Pete Davidson to be the award show’s first host since 2018. Oscars officials have toyed with the idea of this year’s show having multiple hosts, and they’ve also thrown around big names like Dwayne Johnson and Chris Rock. Per Page Six, however, after years of declining ratings, the Oscars are looking for a “reset,” and think Kim Kardashian’s boyfriend would help bring in younger viewers. “He gets a demographic that is hard to get,” an unnamed source told the publication. “He is in a good space, his career is doing well and he is on the rise. He is a sex symbol, unlikely, but he is big with a certain generation.” To Davidson’s credit, he does have hosting ex...
Three little words from Briana — “f*ck the fakeness” — set off some of the teen moms at the franchise’s first-ever family reunion. So can the group dynamic be saved, or are more fights on the horizon? During tonight’s season premiere, Teen Mom OG‘s Maci, Cheyenne and Amber met up with Teen Mom 2‘s Leah, Briana, Jade and Ashley at a resort in San Diego (plus guests Gary, Zach, Brittany, Bar and Chau) for “a spring break they never had.” Pleasantries were exchanged right out of the gate at a welcome mixer, but there was visible tension between Jade and Ashley (remember that reunion?). And then Maci and Cheyenne brought in a life coach. “There are a lot of issues we have to work through,” Cheyenne Bryant explained. “...
The Pitch: Naomi lives inside the difference between an origin story and a coming-of-age story. The CW’s newest superhero story features Kaci Walfall as the titular teenager, who was already living a pretty interesting life before the possibility that she might have superpowers became a possibility. Based on the first two episodes, the first season (which won’t be crossing over with the rest of the Arrow-verse) is set up to offer an extended look at Naomi’s dawning realization of her own abilities, while also contending with the day-to-day realities of being a modern-day teenager. The show’s success is dependent on how much you want to see both of those elements play out, but thanks to Walfall’s charismatic performance, Naomi’s story proves easy to connect with. Not Your Ordinary Teen Supe...
