Live from New York — and London — it’s Saturday night! NBC’s long-running sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live could soon be getting an adaptation across the pond with a UK version. Variety has confirmed that the Comcast-backed TV broadcaster Sky is in the early stages of developing a British SNL. Considering Sky and NBC share a parent company in Comcast — and the fact that China, Japan, the Middle East, France, Italy, Poland, Brazil, and Korea have already put their own spins on the format — a UK adaptation was pretty inevitable. Since late night programming isn’t as big in the UK as it is in the US, however, Variety points out that a British SNL is likely to air much earlier than its American counterpart. It was only just recently that Sky began distribu...
The third time could be the charm for “the world’s most eligiblest guido” after he took a Shot at Love on tonight’s Season 3 finale. But not just any shot. A little shot. An itty bitty baby shot. Let’s recap: After sending Erika D. packing, Vinny found himself struggling to decide between “positive vibes” Peachy and “clowning around” Akielia — and not even Paola could save him. “The one thing that I feel like has been lacking with me and Akielia is us showing each other affection,” he shared. “I like that Peachy is positive. I just gotta make sure that Peachy’s positivity is genuine.” Following a round of drinks and a couple of more dates, Vinny was still feeling “really conf...

The Pitch: In the wake of the battle of Sodden Hill, rumbly-grumbly witcher Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill) has finally reunited with the adopted child handed to him by destiny: exiled Princess Cirilla (Freya Allen), last seen trundling around the woods by herself for an entire season. But now, winter has come and it’s time for Geralt to get some R&R at Kaer Morhen, where witchers go to fill up on elixirs and ale and put up their feet till spring. With Ciri in tow, it may well be time to train her into a new witcher (even as the secrets of her true parentage threaten to upend the land). Meanwhile, Geralt’s on-again-off-again sorceress lover Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) finds herself magicless after her explosion of fire “chaos” (read: magic) at the end of last season, first captured by...
[Editor’s note: The following contains spoilers for And Just Like That…, Episode 2, “Little Black Dress.”] The Pitch: The blunt truth of being alive is that there’s no such thing as a happy ending. Everyone has happy and sad moments over the course of their time on this earth, and when the inevitable comes all you can hope for is that it’s not too soon, and that the good outweighed the bad as much as possible. This is an annoying and awful truth, which is just one reason why we’re a culture obsessed with stories, and why the Sex and the City continuation And Just Like That… is both a very welcome trip home to visit old friends, and also an existential crisis in the works. Less than a month after its premiere, Cowboy Bebop has been put out to pasture. Netflix has canceled its live-action adaptation of the beloved anime after just one season, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Netflix’s Cowboy Bebop, which stars John Cho, Mustafa Shakir, and Daniella Pineda, was based on Shinichiro Watanabe’s 1998 animated series of the same name. Its mix of Eastern and Western influences made it a hit in the US, but the 10-episode live-action remake failed to replicate that appeal: It garnered a 46 percent rating from critics on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, with an audience score coming in at 56 percent on the site. Since Cowboy Bebop’s premiere on November 19th, the series racked up 74 million viewing hours worldwide. While those sound like good numbers, i...

Coming on the heels of Thanksgiving’s South Park: Post Covid, Paramount+ has announced a second special from Matt Stone and Trey Parker with the unwieldy title South Park: Post Covid: The Return of Covid, premiering December 16th on the streamer. Devastated by Kenny’s latest death in the previous special, the teaser trailer sees the surviving members of the South Park motley crew turning to time travel in order to bring everyone back together. Good news for Mystery Science Theater 3000 fans: The sci-fi comedy series is making its grand return on March 4th, 2022. Season 13 (!) of MST3K will welcome back returning hosts and bots Jonah Heston (Jonah Rey), Tom Servo (voiced by Baron Vaughn), and Cro-o-o-o-o-w (voiced by Hampton Yount). Earlier this year, MST3K creator Joel Hodgson moved operations to a new platform called the Gizmoplex, which now serves as group’s online hub and the permanent home of the show. Thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign aptly titled “Let’s Make More MST3K & Build The Gizmoplex!,” the show is now thriving network-free (Netflix previously revived the show in 2016). “It reminds me a little bit of SCTV where The Mads are falling all over each other, trying to do new things in the Gizmoplex in the ho...
