The Real World Cast Relived Tami’s Life-Changing Decision To Terminate Her Pregnancy

In 1993, Tami told her Real World: Los Angeles roommates that she was pregnant and she admitted she was not ready to be a mother. The then-22-year-old decided to terminate the pregnancy because it was the “best decision at this point in time,” and she had the full support of her mother Nadine. Tami bravely chronicled the procedure as she walked into the appointment with Nadine as well as after as she endured “excruciating pain.” Now, during this week’s Homecoming episode, the cast relived Tami’s experience as she reflected on this life-changing choice she shared with millions of viewers. “For me, as an African American woman who was really trying to find myself, I just felt like it wasn’t the right time for me to bring children into the world...

W. Kamau Bell Shares Trailer for New Documentary We Need to Talk About Cosby: Watch

W. Kamau Bell is tackling the legacy of Bill Cosby in a new documentary. Today, the director and comedian announced We Need to Talk About Cosby, a four-part docu-series set to hit Showtime next year, and shared the first trailer for the project. The series juggles the reputation Cosby built as “America’s Dad” with the horrific serial abuser he was behind closed doors. In its first trailer, Bell — known for similarly thoughtful content like the docu-series United Shades of America with W. Kamau Bell, the podcast Politically Re-Active, and the book Do the Work: An Anti-Racist Activity Book — attempts to reconcile these opposing personas as a comedian inspired by Cosby himself. “I am a child of Bill Cosby,” Bell says. “I’m a Black man and a comic born in the ’70s. Bill Cosby ha...

All Stars Teams: Which Challenge Duo Is The Strongest?

Every man for himself? Not so much when it comes to The Challenge: All Stars Season 2, which just threw a huge curveball at its remaining players. So now that the game’s been cut in half (or doubled-up, depending on how you look at it), we’ve gotta ask: Which new duo is the one to beat? On the latest episode of the spinoff series, players received one of two things: great news or fuel for one particularly long sob session. After “Deep Dive,” which challenged competitors — in pairs — to dive 30 feet into a deep cenote before assembling a 3-D puzzle, TJ informed teams that their chosen partners would remain as such for the rest of the season. For some, the twist was reason to celebrate. Melinda said she and Nehemiah, who were cast mates way back on The Real World: Austin, would be “the team ...

Renewing Vows: Irene Said ‘I Do’ (Again) On The Real World

Irene was the first Real World cast member to have their wedding featured on the groundbreaking reality series. And now, nearly 30 years later, she said “I do” once again in front of the MTV cameras at a luxurious location. “Back in ’93, I got married on the show,” she stated during this week’s Homecoming episode about her ceremony and reception to Tim. “What better way to celebrate my new marriage than to renew our vows here on this beautiful yacht?” But before Irene and her husband Phil professed their love to each other, she opened up about her marital history — and divulged something that she had not even told her roommates or producers back in the day. “I was actually married before I came on the show — I married my hig...

Louis C.K. Aired Commercial for New Special During SNL

Live from New York, it’s…a Louis C.K. commercial? On Saturday night, the disgraced comedian ran an ad for his latest comedy special during Saturday Night Live, sending social media into a flurry. “So Louis CK has a new special out, ‘Sorry,’ that he is selling online. An ad ran during SNL,” one person tweeted. “For those who forgot, Louis CK sexually assaulted a series of women comedians, then went right back to work and no one blinked.” Another wrote during the show: “By far the most memorable part of this SNL will be the insanity of seeing a national Louis CK commercial in the year of our Lord Two Thousand Twenty One,” while writer Andy Herrera pointed out the irony in the ad running prior to a re-airing of SNL‘s classic Dick in a Box digital short. “Honestly of course Louis CK whips out ...

The SNL Christmas Episode That Wasn’t

If you want proof of how off-guard New York City was for its biggest COVID surge in months, look no further than Saturday Night Live. Somehow the show had both assembled three strong home-produced pandemic episodes back in Spring 2020, and in an even more impressive/foolhardy feat, went back on the air the following fall. From September 2020 through last week, SNL hadn’t missed a planned episode or even retreated back to filmed-at-home pieces. This has arguably helped further cement the show’s cultural-event status that rankles its harshest critics. Virtually everything about the television landscape has changed over the past five years, but Saturday Night Live still does twentysomething live episodes per season that a fair number of people actually watch as they air. That was, until this ...

Jay Johnston Fired From Bob’s Burgers After Attending January 6th Capitol Riot: Report

While we’ve yet to really see adequate reparations for the MAGA crowd who instigated the January 6th riot at the US Capitol, actor Jay Johnston is facing some consequences. The comedian, known for his roles in films like Anchorman and TV shows like Arrested Development, has reportedly been booted from his role on Fox’s beloved adult animated series Bob’s Burgers after internet sleuths identified him in FBI footage of the attempted coup early this year. Since its first season, Johnston had voiced the recurring Bob’s Burgers character Jimmy Pesto Sr., the owner of Jimmy Pesto’s Pizzeria who often butts heads with Bob and the Belcher family. As The Daily Beast points out, Johnston made his last Bob’s Burgers appearance in the Season 11 episode “The Bridge Over Trouble...

SNL Proceeding with Limited Cast and No Studio Audience, Charli XCX’s Appearance Canceled

Amid a rise in COVID-19 cases spurred on by the omicron variant, this evening’s episode of Saturday Night Live hosted by Paul Rudd will feature a “limited cast and crew,” with no live studio audience. Musical guest Charli XCX’s performances have also been canceled. “Due to the recent spike in the Omicron variant and out of an abundance of caution, there will be no live audience for tonight’s taping of Saturday Night Live and the show will have limited cast and crew,” SNL said in a statement released on Saturday afternoon. “The show continues to follow all government safety guidelines in addition to a rigorous testing protocol.” In her own statement, Charli XCX wrote, “Due to the limited crew at tonight’s taping of SNL my musical performances will no longer be able to go ahead. I am de...

Paul Rudd’s Best Saturday Night Live Sketches (So Far)

Paul Rudd joins the Five-Timers Club this Saturday as host of Saturday Night Live, and he’s sure to add some new fan-favorite skits to his resume. Still, the fact is that he appeared in enough all-time-great sketches during his previous four appearances that it’s tough to narrow down a list of his greatest hits. While Rudd’s greatest comedic achievement remains his decades-long tradition of setting up the wrong clip for Conan O’Brien, his versatility as a character actor, combined with classic leading man good looks and the apparent willingness to do literally anything presented to him by the writers, has made him one of the best modern SNL hosts. Below are eight of his best SNL sketches, arranged chronologically — a list that by Sunday morning we’re sure will end up being much longer. — L...
