After the absolute barrage of announcements that came out of Disney’s Investor Day yesterday, including the confirmation that 10(!) new Star Wars properties are coming out in the next few years (two Mandalorian spinoffs among them), it feels almost quaint to check back in with what The Mandalorian is up to this week. And yet, Chapter 15, “The Believer”, written and directed by Rick Famuyiwa, reminds us why Disney has so much confidence in Star Wars as a brand and a franchise. The penultimate episode of the season can often be a lighter, more disposable affair, setting up chess pieces for a climactic showdown in the finale. Sure, this week does that in spades, but also manages to weave that among a few clever cinematic homages, an incredible return appearance from Bill Burr, ...

Aneesa was a fresh-faced rookie on The Challenge: Battle of the Sexes back in 2002. The Real World: Chicago alum was eliminated halfway through Season 6 when it was revealed that she had big plans to oust one of the game’s top dogs. Nearly 20 years later, Aneesa, now 39, might finally earn her first victory for the same type of cunning, and frankly, it wouldn’t be a moment too soon. On the premiere episode of Double Agents, 15 men and 15 women gathered in Iceland to get the game in motion. And it only took a few moments before competitors had each other in headlocks, pushed each other down steep hills and accrued bruises to secure early victory. In “Mission Decryption,” players — separated into same-sex heats — raced to the top of a mound of sediment to glimpse a code etched onto the side ...
Xochitl Gomez (photo via Instagram/@_xochitl.goemz), Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury (Marvel), and Christian Bale (via WikiCommons) Forget stockholders; Disney’s investor’s presentation on Thursday was the best first-night-of-Hanukkah gift Marvel fans could ask for. Kevin Feige was on hand to present updates on the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe projects — and boy were there a lot of updates. After showing teasers and trailers for all of Marvel’s mostly completed Disney+ series (WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, Ms. Marvel, and What If…?), Feige unloaded a stream of other upcoming projects. Some we knew about, such as Hawkeye; the Marvel head confirmed long-standing rumors (substantiated by recent on-set photos) that Hailee Steinfeld is playing the new Hawkeye, Kate Bi...
TJ Lavin flipped The Challenge “upside down” during the final moments of the Double Agents premiere. And the first person to face the game-changing dynamics is obviously a Challenge rookie. Two-time Survivor competitor Natalie, who won San Juan del Sur and finished second on Winners at War, edged out Ashley in the first win or go home mission of Season 36. Operation: Fire Escape was a Crater battle between the ladies — which left Natalie’s partner Wes and Ashley’s teammate CT to watch from the sidelines. And when Natalie bested Ashley in her first ever immunity elimination and earned the first Red Gold Skull — for one of only ten to compete in the final — TJ had quite the twist for the MTV newbie. And no, it wasn’t fire tokens. “As the ...
Break out the stuffed-crust pepperoni pizza because Nilsa Prowant has something big to celebrate: The MTV Floribama Shore star is pregnant! “Even in the darkest of times the Lord still shines his light. Our greatest adventure is about to begin…” Nilsa captioned the announcement below. The father is boyfriend Gus (no, not that Gus!) and Baby Gazda is due May 2021. Nilsa — who made her MTV debut with her Floribama cohorts back in 2017 — began sharing photos with her beau Gus 2.0 in November 2019. The mama-to-be has gushed “your mama raised you right, you’re one of a kind” and stated “every heart ache was worth going through to get to you.” And, of course, foreshadowing their future family with the caption below. This bundle of joy is the ...
Imprisoned Tiger King star Joe Exotic is looking to fellow reality TV star Kim Kardashian for assistance in obtaining a presidential pardon. In case you didn’t get a chance to watch the viral Netflix series, Exotic, aka Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage, has been locked up since April 2019 after being convicted of trying to hire a hitman to kill his nemesis, Carole Baskin, as well as 17 counts of animal abuse. The Tiger King series ends with Exotic insisting his innocence over jail phone calls, and shortly after the show aired, Exotic stated his intention to issue a formal pardon request to Donald Trump, who Exotic donated to during his 2016 campaign in hopes of meeting the then-candidate. Trump promised to “take a look” at a pardon request, so back in September, Exot...

HBO is ready for another bite of True Blood. As Variety and The Hollywood Reporter note, a reboot of the sexy vampire drama is in the early stages of development. True Blood premiered in 2008 and ran for seven seasons. Adapted by Alan Ball, and based on the novels of The Southern Vampire Mysteries by Charlaine Harris, it was set two years after the invention of Tru Blood, a synthetic substitute that allowed vampires to integrate into human society. The series centered on Sookie Stackhouse (Ana Paquin), a telepathic human waitress who fell in love with vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer). Within the world of the show, many other creatures went bump in the night, including witches, werewolves, and bible-thumping evangelicals. To help along the reboot,...
Jade and Sean celebrated their daughter Kloie’s birthday on tonight’s Teen Mom 2 episode, but, sadly, the two could not contain their negative feelings toward each other and fought at their now-three-year-old’s party dinner. “I’m done. I want him out of my house,” Jade told her mother Christy and producer post-bickering. But what led to this firm statement at what was supposed to be a happy occasion? At first, the mini bash (which included Christy and her husband Corey) felt positive: Kloie gleefully opened presents from her grandma, and everyone enthusiastically sang “Happy Birthday.” But the mood immediately soured when Christy brought up preschool. “She’s three,” Jade began. “She misses going to her daycare, but he&...
Pringles’ mascot Mr. P, photo via Twitter Pringles have one of the most recognizable mascots in the game. His name is Julius Pringles and he’s got a bushy mustache, flowing brown hair, and a dapper red bowtie that screams “Chips from a paper towel roll can be fancy, I swear!” It wasn’t until a recent John Oliver episode, though, that Mr. Pringles suddenly appeared suspicious, on account of the TV host pointing out that he apparently has no body. A floating head that wants you to eat potato chips? What is he hiding? Egged on by the Last Week Tonight host, Pringles took to social media today to introduce Mr. P and his disproportionate but entirely real body. “The moment @IamJohnOliver and @LastWeekTonight have been waiting for,” the brand tweeted. “In honor of every second John has tho...
Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino and wife Lauren recently shared that they “have a baby situation”. Now the Jersey Shore couple is revealing that their bundle of joy is a…boy! “Gym Tan We’re having a Baby Boy,” Sitch captioned the Christmas-themed blue-filled Instagram album above. The mama-to-be shared the same photos, adding “@itsbabysituation IS A BABY BOY.” The college sweethearts — who said “I do” in 2018 — announced that their “biggest blessing” would be arriving in May 2021. Shortly after the life-changing reveal, the future mom and dad launched an Instagram account for their little honey. Wonder if this little one will love ordering the entire menu as much as his dear dad. Stay with MTV News fo...
