Silence of the Lambs Sequel Series Clarice Gets First Trailer: Watch

CBS has released the first official trailer for Clarice, the upcoming sequel TV series to The Silence of the Lambs, ahead of the show’s scheduled February premiere. Watch it below. Clarice takes place in 1993, one year after the events of the original Silence of the Lambs movie unfolded. Billed as a psychological thriller, the show follows FBI agent and feminist icon Clarice Starling (Rebecca Breeds) as she returns to the field to pursue serial murderers and sexual predators, all while navigating the high-stakes political world of Washington, D.C. Unlike the show’s motif-heavy teaser trailer, we get a much better idea of what to expect from Clarice in this latest clip. The new trailer suggests that Starling spent the previous months in hiding, attempting to grapple with the trauma and...

The Evolution of Ted Danson, Mr. Mayor of Television

If it feels like Ted Danson has always been on our television screens, well, it’s because that’s more or less true. He’s been around since at least the mid-1970s, cropping up in one long-running sitcom after another, buoying that with everything from prestige dramas to procedurals to a brief stint as a movie star in the ’90s (Three Men and a Baby, anyone?) He’s one of the hardest-working, and most ubiquitous, people in show business, cultivating a very specific persona that has itself morphed and changed as Danson’s hair has turned from brown to gray. Now, fresh off a four-year stint on the critically-acclaimed The Good Place, Danson finds himself as yet another bumbling man of power in a crisp suit, although a bit less openly demonic this time: Mayor Neil Bremer on NBC’s latest show, ...

‘You Don’t Get Used To That’: The Challenge‘s Big T Reveals Her Heartbreaking Childhood

Big T had a brief Challenge debut on War of the Worlds 2 (the Team UK member was the second player ousted), and then the Brit showed some serious Total Madness game play and social savviness (but was ousted due to a medical disqualification). Her Double Agents journey has already been eventful: She lost her partner Joseph in the second Season 36 elimination and is now paired with the legendary CT after a big teammates shakeup. But during this week’s episode, viewers saw a different side of the humorous competitor and got to hear Big T’s “origin story.” “When I was two years old, my little brother died,” she told Devin, Amber M and Kyle. “And then my mom got cervical cancer, and in my culture in Malawi, adoption isn’t a thing. When you give yo...

HBO Max Announces Sex and the City Sequel Series And Just Like That…

HBO Max has officially announced And Just Like That…, a Sex and the City sequel series starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis. The 10-episode, half-hour series will follow Carrie (Parker), Miranda (Nixon), and Charlotte (Davis) as they “navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s,” according to a press release. Sex and the City co-star Kim Cattrall, who’s been feuding with Parker for the last several years, will not be returning for the sequel series. Based on Candace Bushnell’s book of the same name, Sex and the City ran for six seasons between 1998 and 2004. Two feature-length films followed in 2008 and 2010. There were plans for a third movie in 201...

Roku Purchases Quibi’s Library

It’s about nine months too late, but you’ll soon finally be able to watch Quibi shows on your television. Via Deadline, Roku has acquired 75 titles from the Quibi library that will stream for free with commercials on the Roku Channel. Quibi launched last April with a billion dollars in funding and a dream: to reinvent streaming with “quick bites” of content beamed straight to your mobile phone. The platform’s hopes of gripping an on-the-go populace with ten-minute stories quickly came up against the pandemic; suddenly with too much time on their hands, the target audience was craving binge-watching marathons, not short chapters. Worse, Quibi wasn’t compatible with streaming hardware like Rokus or Amazon Fire TV, which meant people trapped on the couch couldn’t watch it on their TVs. Quibi ...

Denmark Launches Children’s TV Show About Man with Giant, Uncontrollable Penis

Danish TV show John Dillermand is about a man with a very long penis, photo via DR TV The Danes sure do it differently — sex education, that is. Last Saturday, Denmark’s national broadcasting company premiered a new children’s TV show about a man with an extraordinarily long and uncontrollable penis. Created by DR, the country’s equivalent of the BBC, in collaboration with actual sex educators, the animated series follows John Dillermand, said to be the world’s most well endowed man. The titular character often uses his record-breaking phallus as a helpful tool to overcome various challenges (taming lions), as well as complete everyday tasks (outdoor BBQing, as seen above). However, there are certain instances when his penis, acting completely independently of Dillermand, gets him in ...

The Serpent: How to Steal Monique’s Sultry and Bohemian ’70s Style

BBC’s new true-crime series The Serpent takes us on a journey of glamour, seduction, and murder. It follows the story of ’70s French serial killer Charles Sobhraj (played by Tahar Rahim) who goes by the name “Alain” and his menacing partner-in-crime girlfriend Marie-Andrée Leclerc (played by Jenna Coleman) who goes by “Monique.” While the pair prey on Western tourists traveling in Southeast Asia, Monique uses her charm and fashion sense to lure in unsuspecting victims — and although we absolutely condemn her predatory behaviour, we know exactly how to copy her sultry French-bohemian style. In the 1970s, the ideal fashion look included flared, high-waisted blue jeans or trousers secured with a wide belt. Oversize sunglasses were also very popular, as well...

David Hasselhoff: If New Knight Rider Movie Doesn’t Honor the TV Series, “They’ve Hassled The Hoff”

With ’80s nostalgia in full swing, thanks to TV shows such as Cobra Kai and movies like Wonder Woman 1984, a new Knight Rider movie is of course in the works. While David Hasselhoff is not directly attached to the movie, he is hoping that the filmmakers stay true to the spirit of the original TV series. Hasselhoff starred as Michael Knight alongside a talking car named KITT in the original Knight Rider TV series, which aired from 1982 through 1986 on NBC. While the show has been revived in the form of various TV movies and a 2008 reboot series, it hasn’t gotten the full big-budget film treatment — until now. As Deadline reported over the summer, a big-screen Knight Rider movie is currently being developed by Spyglass Films. Producers James Wan (Furious 7, Saw) and Michael Clear (MacGy...

‘It Just Feels Like It’s Time’: Chelsea Reveals Why She’s Leaving Teen Mom 2

Chelsea revealed some “big news” during Part 1 of the Teen Mom 2 reunion: this is her “final season” on the long-running MTV series. “It is definitely bittersweet,” the soon-to-be mom of four told her fellow cast members Briana, Jade, Kailyn and Leah as well as hosts Dr. Drew and Nessa. She first announced this life-changing development on Instagram in November. Dr. Drew had a “mix of emotions,” and he pressed Chelsea to elaborate more on her choice. “Just watching this last season, I was getting a bad feeling in my stomach,” she explained. “It just feels like it’s time to close the chapter. I’m almost 30, and I’m having my fourth baby. It just feels like the right time.” How did her cohorts react? Br...

Tanya Roberts Is Still Alive — Despite Her Husband and Publicist Being Told She Was Dead: Report

Tanya Roberts is still alive, despite a statement from her husband saying she had passed. Yesterday, a publicist representing Roberts’ husband, Lance, issued a press release saying that the actress had died on Sunday at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. The press release even included a statement from Roberts’ husband, saying: “As I held her in her last moments, she opened her eyes.” But now, the publicist has now gotten back to TMZ to confirm that Roberts is not actually dead. Apparently, Lance received a call from the hospital on Monday informing him about Roberts’ current state and confirmed to him that she is still alive. However, she remains in the ICU in “dire” condition. Roberts was hospitalized on Christmas Eve after collapsing in her home. Her exact ailment hasn’t b...

Netflix’s Bridgerton Reveals Uncomfortable Truths About Sex

While watching Bridgerton last week, I jokingly referred to the series as “the fancy British sex show” to friends on a text thread. Although that’s perhaps reductive, the description is fairly accurate: Netflix’s new Victorian drama is filled with sex, scandal, pearl clutching, and opulence. Yet, at the same time, it’s also a lot of fun, which is why I happened to binge most of the season in a day. (It was a welcome distraction during a stressful week.) However, there are deeper truths underneath Bridgerton’s addictive exterior. Sure, at first blush, it’s a Victorian romance with a Gossip Girl subplot, but the series cuts much deeper than that. At its core, Shondaland’s latest drama stealthily reveals the damaging lies and practices perpetuated by the patriarchy, particularly the struggle ...
