Madisen is 34 weeks into her 16 and pregnant journey — and in the sneak peek below, the Arkansas native seeks some advice from her father before she becomes a parent herself. “Just do it your way — as much as I did for you, if not better,” Nick, who raised his daughter on his own, says in the clip above from the season premiere. “I don’t think that I’ve done enough.” “You’ve done a pretty damn good job,” Madisen tells her dad, to which he replies, “You turned out pretty good.” Nick reassures his girl that she could talk to him about “anything,” but he can’t help but reflect back to when Madisen didn’t want to communicate with him about her pregnancy. How did Nick react when he first learne...
The Pitch: It’s hard to imagine bigger shoes to fill for Mike Flanagan’s The Haunting of Bly Manor. 2018’s The Haunting of Hill House set a high bar with its deft mixture of emotion and terror. When it was announced that he would be adapting Henry James’s The Turn of the Screw in a similar style, the inevitable question became, “Could he recapture the same magic?” He does, mostly. Bly Manor is a moving examination of relationships that explores the ways humans hurt and heal each other, told from the perspective of ghosts and those they leave behind. In other words, with Bly Manor, Flanagan has created a breathtaking haunted love story. The Great Good Place: James’ Victorian novel tells the story of an unnamed Governess who accepts a position minding young Miles and Flora. Flanagan ta...
Season 5 of The Eric Andre Show is set to premiere in just a few weeks, and if its new trailer is any indication, fans can expect another wild, scream-filled ride. In this first teaser, Eric Andre looks as deranged and maniacal as ever — he proudly drives a dirt bike straight into his desk, strangles a creepy clown, and gets shot in the chest before completely disintegrating. At one point, the comedian even rips off his very own head and uses the bloody thing as a soccer ball. (Points for creativity!) Watch down below, followed by a few stills from the show. Along with a headless Andre and trusty co-host Hannibal Buress, the new season promises a long list of fun musical guests, including Grimes, Anderson. Paak, Lil Yachty, Toro y Moi, Big Freedia, and Joey Bada$$. NBA star Blake Grif...
Austin City Limits TV returns this weekend with the launch of its 46th season. While new episodes began filming in studio sans audience earlier this month, the season premiere will actually focus on archival footage. Specifically, the episode will be a retrospective celebration of the late John Prine, featuring selections from his impressive eight ACL appearances. Spanning five decades from Prine’s first solo acoustic set in 1978 to his final one in 2018, the footage includes one previously unaired clip from 1987. It finds the country folk great singing his classic elegy for a drug addicted veteran, “Sam Stone”. Ahead of the ACL TV season premiere on October 3rd, this rare performance is being shared today. Before going into the track from his 1971 self-titled debut, Prine did what he did ...
Saturday Night Live kicked off its 46th season with a cold opening parodying this week’s presidential debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden, with Jim Carrey making his debut as the former vice president. Appropriately, the cold opening began by acknowledging that Tuesday’s debate feels like “it was already one hundred days ago” (in the time since then, Trump has been hospitalized for coronavirus.) Even so, “We thought it was important to see it again since it might be the only presidential debate, and it was pretty fun to watch — as long as you don’t live in America” the narrator explained. Carrey walked on stage wearing Biden’s signature aviator glasses and with fingers guns a-blazin’. He then pulled out a tape measure to check distance between the two candidates’ podiums. ...
Good news Cobra Kai fans. Today, Netflix dropped a new teaser trailer for its highly anticipated third season. Not only does it announce a premiere date of January 8th, 2021, but it also confirms a fourth season is “officially training to join the fight.” As for the actually teaser, there are a few glimpses of what’s to come. It looks like Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) are at least on speaking terms again. Meanwhile, Robby (Tanner Buchanan) appears to be in juvie following his attack on Miguel Diaz (Xolo Maridueña), who wakes up at the end in the hospital. That last reveal is admittedly rather surprising, seeing how Miguel’s fate is the true cliffhanger at the end of Season 2. What’s also intriguing is how this teaser leaves out any shots of Okinawa, Ja...
Nikki had always remained steadfast in her goal “to be” with DJ Pauly D on Double Shot at Love — after the awkward U-Turn first few days. But during the finale, the Jersey Shore star wondered if the duo — who met and fell for each other initially on Season 1 — was indeed ready to take it to the “next level” and confessed the only way to truly know was to just “do it.” Of course, their status update was an early topic on part 1 of the show’s reunion — and host Adrienne Bailon-Houghton inquired if they had stayed true to their previous statements post-Las Vegas adventure. “It’s an interesting question, and it’s a very deep question that I don’t even really know if I can answer right now,” Pauly D ...
Millie Bobby Brown (photo via Instagram/@milliebobbybrown) and Amy Winehouse (photo courtesy of the artist’s estate) Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown has revealed that she “would love to play” Amy Winehouse in a biopic. During an interview with Netflix Latinoámerica in support of her new movie Enola Holmes, in which she portrays Sherlock Holmes’ younger sister, Brown was asked which historical figure she would like to bring to life next. Her response was almost immediate: “I wouldn’t say she’s historical, but I would love to play Amy Winehouse.” “I personally think she is like an icon to R&B, blues, and basically the whole culture of music,” Brown continued. “I just love her music and I really was impacted by her whole story. I always say that I would love to play her.” Br...
Ms. Marvel (Marvel) and Iman Vellani (photo via TIFF) Marvel has found the latest hero to bear its name. Newcomer Iman Vellani has been cast as the title character in the upcoming Disney+ series Ms. Marvel. Vellani is a complete unknown in Hollywood, with her only notable connection being her spot on the Toronto International Film Festival’s Next Wave Committee last year. As Deadline reports, Marvel was determined to find the perfect actress for the role, regardless of their usual A-list casting habits. After a long and thorough process, Vellani nabbed the coveted part. The plan is to have her debut in the Disney+ show before she transitions to the big screen. Ms. Marvel debuted in 2014 as Marvel’s first Muslim hero to headline their own comic series. The character is Kamala Khan, a Pakist...
Briana learned last week on Teen Mom 2 that she tested positive for the sexually transmitted infection (STI) chlamydia after having unprotected sex with Luis. And during tonight’s episode, Stella’s parents — who hooked up multiple times pre-STI diagnosis — had a face-to-face conversation about this disappointing turn of events. “I’m not going to stop apologizing,” Luis told his baby mama, after he claimed he was going to the doctor the following week to get treatment. “I am sorry for letting that happen. I’ve been trying to be different and be better than before.” But Briana was tired of his behavior and had no desire to continue their romantic relationship. “I just felt like you just don’t care about yourself enough t...
The trend of charity livestream table reads is about to knock you back on your coal-mining asses. Jack Black has announced he’ll lead a reading of the pilot script for his failed 1999 comedy series Heat Vision and Jack. Written by Dan Harmon (Rick and Morty) and Rob Schrab (The Sarah Silverman Show) and directed by Ben Stiller, the Fox pilot Heat Vision and Jack is a wonderfully weird lo-fi vestige of the ’90s. It starred Black as Jack Austin, a former astronaut granted super-intelligence when his space capsule gets “inappropriately” close to the sun. However, his knowledge is only enhanced during daylight hours, returning to normal at night. Owen Wilson voiced his companion, Heat Vision, the result of Jack’s unemployed roommate, Doug, merging with his own motorcycle. Together, they stumbl...
