WarnerMedia has launched an investigation into allegations of misconduct and an environment of fear on the set of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Via The Hollywood Reporter, the news comes 11 days after a Buzzfeed report in which ten former and one current employee described a “toxic work environment.” Rumors of verbal abuse, retribution, and racism have dogged Ellen for years. But the stories reported by Buzzfeed are still disquieting, involving little tolerance for family emergencies, inconsistently enforced rules, and attempts to silence workers who expressed concerns. One woman took medical leave after a suicide attempt, and when she returned, her position was eliminated. A Black woman who objected to the term “spirit animal” was labeled “the PC police,” and later re...
Shudder is ready to close out the summer by turning up the heat. In August, AMC’s horror streaming service has curated a twisted lineup of originals, classics, and premieres to get us ready for the spooky season ahead. For original features, there’s Rob Savage’s quarantine-based Host, Jayro Bustamante’s politically-charged La Llorona, Jay Baruchel’s new slasher Random Acts of Violence, and Frank Sabatella’s vampiric subversion The Shed. And after kicking off summer, Joe Bob Briggs is ready to bring the house down with a double-feature they’ve dubbed a Summer Sleepover. Special guests are promised, and they’ve already confirmed Hatchet director Adam Green. But there are also a handful of classic being added to the service, including Jawbreaker, Urban Legends: Final Cut, and the original Rin...
Melissa stated that she couldn’t keep calm and “carry on” during the Total Madness final, and the Brit ultimately quit the last leg of Season 35. And during Part 1 of the reunion, the Vendettas rookie teared up as she watched the footage because what she didn’t know (for sure) at the time was that she was pregnant. A Challenge first: taking on the final with a bun in the oven! “I was thinking to [my]self, why am I struggling so much? I was at peak fitness,” Melissa, who welcomed a baby girl named Vienna in May, recounted to her fellow competitors and host Vernon Davis. “Why am I so breathless?” Total Madness champion Johnny Bananas made a fair point: “It was because you were competing for two people!” But Melissa was aware somethi...

Who better to write a new song for the ThunderCats reboot than the musician named Thundercat. The funk and jazz maestro born Stephen Burner has contributed a new song called “Grune’s Tune” to Cartoon Network’s ThunderCats Roar. As Pitchfork points out, Burner’s song is about a villainous anthropomorphic saber-toothed tiger named Grune the Destroyer, of which he also voices in the series. During a Comic-Con@Home panel on Thursday, Burner spoke about his life-long fascination with ThunderCats and revealed his musical moniker came about because he frequently wore a ThunderCats T-Shirt in the studio, leading Erykah Badu to refer to him as “Thundercat”. Watch the animated video for “Grune’s Tune” and the Comic-Con@Home panel below. Back in April, Thundercat released his fourth st...

On Friday, White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany claimed that the animated children’s show Paw Patrol has been put down, an unfortunate victim of liberal cancel culture run amok. For some small children, this would indeed be ruff rough news, but luckily for them, it’s a lie. The Nickelodeon show is about an elite group of search-and-rescue canines, and like the Village People, each pup has a different job. One works in construction zones, one is a firefighter, one specializes in underwater rescues, and yes, a lone German Shepard works as a police K-9. After George Floyd was brutally murdered by cops, some (mostly joking) Twitter users called for Paw Patrol to turn in its badge. This led to a relatively nuanced piece in the New York Times called “The Protests...
“Bet you didn’t think that was going to happen.” No, DJ Pauly D, we didn’t think you would be hooking up with your ex-girlfriend, based on the extremely awkward lack of communication between you and Nikki up until last week. And same goes for Vinny and Maria. But we love Vegas pool parties this time of year, especially when DJ Pauly D is at the center of it all doing his thing! Tonight’s Double Shot at Love featured a whole lotta loving, including unanticipated pairs Pauly and Nikki and Vinny and Maria as well as more-expected duos Brandon and Marissa, Nicky and Suzi and Pretty Ricky and Derynn. Yes, people were “dropping like flies” — and falling into each other’s sacks arms. Pauly’s Drai’s event — with surprise guest...
Longtime collaborators Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are ready to unveil their newest project. It’s a comedy-horror series called Truth Seekers, set to premiere this fall on Amazon Prime. In Truth Seekers, Frost plays Gus, the leader of a group of part-time paranormal investigators who team up to uncover and film ghost sightings across the UK. “As they stake out haunted churches, underground bunkers and abandoned hospitals with their array of homemade ghost-detecting gizmos, their supernatural experiences grow more frequent, more terrifying and even deadly, as they begin to uncover a conspiracy that could bring about Armageddon for the entire human race,” notes a plot synopsis. For his day job, however, Gus works at a broadband company called Smile, which is where Pegg comes in....
It looks like the inaugural episode of Catfish is off to a Catfishy start. In a sneak peek of the debut episode, airing on August 5, Nev and Kamie listen — and nonchalantly text each other — as Jason opens up about his online beau Keith. “I brought up marriage,” the love hopeful tells the detectives, as his pal who wrote the MTV duo listens in on the chat. “And I would like to create my own family. So it’s something that’s on the table.” But as Jason elaborates on his past attempts to meet up with Keith, Nev and Kamie are skeptical that Keith is actually Keith. “There’s no way in hell this guy Keith is legit,” Kamie messages Nev. What prompts her to make this prediction? Watch the clip to find out — and do not miss the...
Jenna and Zach are “happier than ever” as they plan their upcoming wedding. But the last time viewers saw the engaged pair, they had some difficult arguments while she was away competing on Total Madness. Zach made a “surprise cameo” during Part 1 of the reunion — and as Challenge Season 35 footage rolled of the two arguing about old DMs he discovered and him demanding she return home or they would be “done,” the Battle of the Exes 2 lovebirds were asked about how they overcame this tough (and televised) time. “Regardless of what I found, we were strong enough to work through it,” the Battle of the Seasons champ told host Vernon Davis and fellow players. “I won’t go into it because that’s between us. You can keep askin...
