The Biggest Dance Music Livestream of Quarantine Just Got Even Bigger: See The Lineup

Billing itself as “the biggest digital music festival in history,” upcoming dance music livestream festival Electric Blockaloo just got even bigger.

Today (June 11), the event added artists including Bob Moses, Maya Jane Coles, Deadmau5’s techno alter-ego Testpilot, Skream, Blondish, Seth Troxler, Khruangbin, MK, DJ Soda, Ekali, Felix da Housecat, Ivy Lab, Kevin Saunderson, The Knocks, Krafty Kuts, Luciano, Carl Craig, MK, Paris Hilton, Rudimental, DJ Sneak, Sherelle, STS9, Steve Aoki and Todd Terry to its already massive lineup featuring a staggering 850 artists.

Electric Blockaloo takes place June 25-28 inside the video game Minecraft, which during the festival will feature 65 digitally-rendered stages including those hosted by labels and artists like Bedouin, Claptone, Desert Hearts, Zhu, Gryffin, Jauz, Diplo, Sacha Robotti, Dirtybird and many more. The digital experience will also offer online “camping” during which fest attendees can build their dream campsite.

As rights and royalties pertaining to livestreams become a bigger issue with the livestream explosion in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, Electric Blockaloo has partnered with Mixcloud to ensure artists get paid when their songs are played.

“One of the biggest challenges for digital festivals is making sure that artists are compensated for the use of their music,” Jackie McGuire, the CEO of festival organizer Rave Family, is quoted in a statement. “We knew that in order to create a sustainable digital music event platform, we had to take care of that.  With their advanced content ID system and unique music licenses,  Mixcloud has been a great partner and we are excited to be leading the movement to pay artists fairly.”

Along with the recently announced Tomorrowland livestream, Electric Blockaloo is one of the first online events to charge an admission price, with tickets to the festival going for $10 and including access along with encore viewings. VIP tickets start at $15 and include access to exclusive digital worlds, stages, and sets.

Five percent of festival revenue will benefit myriad causes, with attendees able to choose from charities including The Bail Project, which works to prevent incarceration and combat racial and economic inequalities in the bail system, Black Lives Matter, and ByeByePlastic, a campaign to remove single use plastics from the music industry. HeadCount will also allow ticket buyers to register to vote during ticket checkout.
